Hi guys, working on a script for a unit and running into a whole load of mindslopionation re what the games returning angle wise. unitdir1,unitdir2,unitdir3 = Spring.GetUnitDirection(unitID) in this case am I right in thinking that unitdir1 will be which way the unit is facing? I should think the best approch would be to shrink the grass as you get closer, and enlarge it as you zoom out.

Workaround sounds like a lot of work for somthing so trivial... Im thinking maybe swap the unit when deployed with a differn't unit, but then again, that seems stupid seeing as how I cant think of a reason why the engin would want to limit the range of all weapons to that of the lowest range weapon ...

Right, so I have a missile tank. It also has a laser for extra defense. its missiles only fire when its deployed and it dont move when deployed. So far so good, as that all works. Havn't even had time to think about effects yet, just wanted to get things in game first. Effects can come later (still a few more units I want to put in for this phase...)

They do have them, they may not be strong enough though to show up... that or possibly this work computer cant handle them. I'll try making the bumps more extrem to see what happens.

Relly not sure, its possible I had seen that at some point and it inspired me later down the line... didn't have a visual referance when I originaly made them though other than my own doodles.

They were just the original trees on V0.1 of Autumn Wood, but they were 3do, but by teh time I got to V1 s3o was out and I replaced them with way better trees...

Can features have normal maps nowadays? That would help...

OK, so for now I'm gonna ignor the visual stupidity of the unit doing that as its not like I can do much about it for now. So moving on... I have worked out how to make it deploy and do the animation for that, but what I dont know is how to tell it it can't move while deployed, and how to stop it sh...

Hard to say without having seen how you've coded it. Is the problem that it's tilted that far over or that it picked such a path where it's hanging off the cliff? The latter, IE the path it picked hangs of the cliff. The script is doing exactly what I want it to do. It's the engin and were it think...

No, thats not the problem... it needs to be able to do that to get up slopes in its slope tollerance... I dont mind the fact the legs do that when they overhang, what I don't want is it to unit overhang. (Cars dont drive with half the bodywork hanging over the side of a cliff, or have the ability to...
