BlackLiger wrote:Uh. That contradicts itself. If it improves upon it, it cannot be true to OTA.
Why not? Core Contingency improved on OTA. So did most of the balance patches. So does, in fact, Spring itself. What you say could only be true if OTA couldn't be improved without losing its core concepts.

In your opinion. Many others disagree with you, and find that it is not only true to OTA, but significantly improves upon it.

this may have been mentioned before... When you give units to an ai, the ai does not know they exist and therefore does not use them. You have to give the unit an order before the ai realizes that it's there. Does that matter here? I think you can even use the EmptyAI for this. The test is using th...

How about a tag that lets modders choose between the following behaviorus: Weapons Free: The unit will engage any available targets with this weapon, prioritizing any it is currently ordered to attack. Controlled Fire: The unit will only use this weapon when executing an attack order, when on patrol...

Even worse is the "Oh no, I'm being attacked" behaviour. If a unit's attacked by something out of its range on Maneuver/Fire at Will, it will travel pretty much any distance to try and take out whatever's attacking it as long as it keeps getting pinged. To make things even worse, nearby friendlies w...

Except that weapons already have special damage values against different tiers of units. They generally do more damage to L1 and less to higher levels.

Stating the Obvious: What about making turrets do a lot of extra damage to Commanders? That'll make them able to stand up to combat units (and so surviving a rush), but make them poor at creeping into enemy territory.

Post the script and ask people to help tweak it. You're going to need to learn to script eventually. ;)

What's really cool is that the jamming/radar effect is affected the same way by terrain as weapons are, so it actually shows you accurately what will be jammed, regardless of mountains, etc. You sure about that? Last time I checked, jammers weren't affected by terrain, but radar was. I like the fue...

D: pop-ups behind fort walls under jamming.

Note that pop-ups DO outrange Doomsday machines, so there is an option there. (Edit: Apparently, Vanguards don't outrange Annis. I could've sworn they did.)

I find that most enemies leave holes in their defenses big enough that a swarm of Gremlins can slip through. Leaving that aside... Do you think the cost increase on Annihilators will help? My experience is that pop-ups by themselves are no problem, and BLoDs by themselves are no problem, but pop-ups...
