And more importantly, complete. Well.... hopefully. :P

I didn't like the florescent teamcolor look on the units, so I made it a little more subdued.

Thoughts on this?

You won't be able to make AA less popular. It's OTA-based, so you've automatically got a massive fanbase there that EE, Nanoblobs, and Battletech simply don't have and can't have . It's got gameplay that reminds people of one of the best RTS games ever, but manages to improve upon that game by fixin...

Were at one point, but I believe that had changed in 2.11, with cost reductions/ability buffs on some of the cons.

all okay but why remove bertha ships ? why remove bertha tanks ? why orcone ? why krogtaar ? nano towers removed ?!?! Covered in the 2.2 thread. The Orcone and Bantha were redundant, the Krogtaar had few real uses, Caydr got fed up with constant bitching from people who didn't understand how absurd...

I've seen games hailed as being EXCELLENT examples of great players, where one player eventually just sets a rally point for his advanced vehicle factory. The rally point is the enemy base. The production is goliaths, and the outcome - unless his opponent is doing the same thing - is always victory...

Just wondering, as this means that you can't use the left-overs of a swarm of bombers for a general "terror campaign". ;) Still, I suppose being guaranteed to blow up the target they're given is better.

If Min3mat only has one sarcastic complaint, you know it's a good set of changes. ;) Couple questions: Sniper is now manual-fire only Does this mean like the D-Gun, or that it only fires at things when given an attack order? Bombers (Liche included) now only attack the target assigned If they don't ...

For the machine-readable stuff, it depends on what you want to use it for. Possible uses: 1) Provide links on Unknown-Files to mods that a map works well for. 2) Provide a list of mods in the client that a mod works well for. I think that trying to link maps to specific mod versions is probably poin...

The mapper would be able to put more than one of these tags in his map to reflect its different types of terrain. Can anybody else think of any good tags? Ideally, the Unknown-Files people would specify the tags their software supported, and ask what tags users were interested in being able to find...

One thing to consider is whether these things are intended to be machine-readable or human-readable. "mods=AA,XTA,NB,EE,G,WD;" might be fine for a person, but if U-F (for example) wants to provide links to the mods a map plays well on, that doesn't seem very useful. Another possible consideration: h...

Meta-data in filenames is bad.

Give mappers a full meta-data system they can use to provide any kind of descriptive information about their map they want to. The client might not use all of it, but unknown-files could, future clients might, etc.

I don't get the people who hate Speedmetal, honestly- metal maps had their place in OTA, and they have a place in Spring. Speedmetal is a good trainer map for people who need to learn the basics of gameplay without getting insta-pwnd by experienced rush players, and therein lies the appeal- even ne...

Forces people to learn to do something other than Porc, but this also makes them a little difficult to find teammates on. Greenhaven / Evergreenhaven - Very similar ...

Flashes get smoked by Gators, yes its true... but it seems mostly with the flash tanks slow reaction time and turret tracking ability than anything else. Actually, the Flash is slightly faster, but the Gator has much more health, a slightly higher DPS, a much longer range, costs only a hair more, a...
