iirc there is no callin that tells you when a unit has finished doing a command. There is UnitCmdDone() I've coded the logic of this one to happen in the AllowCommand callin, but it seems odd to me that the effect should be there too -> I just assumed AllowCommand is a "OK, you can do this command,...

You want to overlay the picture on screen so that it looks like a crosshair / camera frame thing?
MissionEditor used to have an Action to show images on screen. If that still exists and works with transparent .png then it is probally easiest way, no Lua needed.

Not sure what "difficulty level" you are looking for, so just general answer: 1) Lua itself: For learning Lua (loops, variables, functions,..) there are better places/tutorials in web than spring offers. Imo NOT recommend to learn Lua (or even scripting) via spring, it will take longer than reading ...

I don't care third. If we want to keep rapid integration, we'll have to move to Git sooner or later, since abma seems to ditch SVN support in future to reduce rapid maintenance. It it eating an energy storage? (try with a mobile unit?) holdSteady=true/false should just change how passenger's orientation behaves...
