Re: Adding your mod to sprigndownloader rapid packages
Does this have support for multiple dependencies? For example, I was going to package the music separately to avoid the need to include it each time. Much the same for unit models and textures and anything large of consequence. Edit: Nice work btw! It will work with dependencies if you provide the ...

Re: Adding your mod to sprigndownloader rapid packages
Could support for 7zip not be added in the future? Maybe, no plans for now. Also, it would be a good idea to enable http downloading (a la, I can point it to a web address and have it fetch the file from there). After you login you can upload file with mod - or point to URL where it already is and ...

Thanks to CarRepairer and Licho it is no longer necessary to bug me to update your mod in Rapid. See http://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=22077

Re: Why was tasclient/springdownloader removed from installer?
BA/CA/XTA/NOTA/S44 are all in SD and any other mod can be included by leaving me a PM with a link to the sdz. It takes me about 1 minute to add a new mod.
Once a mod is selected in SD, it will be auto updated any time you run SD and these updates will be really small.

Set <SpringVersion>0.81.1</SpringVersion> in main.xml and restart your host.FLOZi wrote:N.B. v184 through v210 depend on v170 in case that wasn't clear.
On a somewhat related note; I don't sync with my own springie-based autohost. WTF is going on?
Wait 10 minutes and restart it again.

Re: SpringDownloader working now nice ..but ..
Wrong for SD or wrong for Spring? what we have now works in terms of the game loading etc, so I don't think it is 'wrong' in absolute terms. that said, if Spring has changed so that dependencies are no longer called explicitly by filename, I'm glad to hear it. Wrong as in there are no advantages to...

Re: SpringDownloader working now nice ..but ..
Multiple players had problems with it. The only common factor was their use of SD to download Pre-M v170, I believe. When given actual packages, they were able to run v184 through v210 fine. Nemo would know more. The dependency is set wrong. Currently: Depend0=S44Pre-M_v170.sd7; What it should be: ...

Re: Spring Teamspeak server replaced with Mumble
Another handy feature it has is its overlay. You can easily see who is talking and who is in same room even in spring: http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/3204/ss20090920151543.png i know i've asked like three times already, but i never got this to work. how do i do this? i'm on linux (ubuntu), and in...

Re: Allow modders to disable typemaps
+1, Geyser has a typemap speed bonus for hovercraft, you cannot have units that move on land and the surface of the water and also play Geyser Plains without them being way too powerful. Many other instances of this etc. Hovers on my geyser? It's more likely than you think http://files.caspring.org...

It's actually very easy to change names in a replay, search/replace.SwiftSpear wrote:Eh, in theory it's possible to fake replays... but faking a replay to get someone banned would be an insane amount of work, and we'd probably be able to track it down pretty easy through log hunting.

Re: New server
Building a rainbow table to use once isn't any faster than going without rainbow tables. Yes, it lets you attack all passwords at once. Is that factor of improvement significant? And it's useful to check if two accounts have the same password. But you can build a rainbow table in advance, whereas y...

Re: New server
Basically, do rainbow tables exist for double-round md5? If not, then you're reasonably safe from the simple attacks that can be mounted without them. Unless your attacker has a supercomputer. They might. But even if not, you could easily build a rainbow table for this scheme. Also, this scheme mea...

Re: New server
Salting doesn't stop dictionary attacks, it stops precomputed dictionary attacks, these include rainbow tables. It also means you have to attack each password 1-by-1 when using a dictionary attack. Note that strong passwords (long, random) are not vulnerable to dictionary attacks (unless the hash is...
