Re: Weblobby vs OS X engine
Join a BA or XTA game and it should download the engine, then when that's complete, game and map. seems so obvious... perhaps adding a small line to indicate this in the Downloads section or somewhere for idiots like me... Download indeed starts and appears in the list, but my network remain...

Re: Weblobby vs OS X engine
It downloads the engine automatically into its own directory and uses that (games and maps are downloaded into the default spring datadir). Well, I did try it (at least chatting works...), but the download section is pretty much empty (besides a "manual download" button). What am I missing?

Re: Frequent crashing
Hi, I couldn't really tell if it's OS version dependent, but currently the engine is built on a (my) SL (10.6) box, and I didn't run into these kind of crashes. This being said, although moving to a more recent OS would be nice, Mavericks is only about to emerge anytime soon and might again raise it...

Weblobby vs OS X engine
Hi, Great job on weblobby, the interface is really neat for "just" a browser! Just wondering, is the lobby supposed to recognize the OS X engine? It's bundled in a .app with a specific folder structure, so just wanted to know if you guys had checked it out... Or perhaps provide a simpler o...

Re: CMake Yields "unknown compiler"
I (and many others) believe that Lion was not a revolution tech-wise, this is why I haven't upgraded any of my machines (including the server on which Spring for Mac is built). This is why the binary is currently SL-compatible, although Lion users have been able to run the binary. I might consider s...

Re: Getting Spring on Max OS X Snow Leopard Started
No...none of those folders are created...so go through and create them myself and hope it reads them? ---The .spring folder is supposed to be in you home directory? Both folders are supposed to be created at first run of the standalone app (just in case you don't know, the .spring folder is hidden ...

The error message is only a warning => not vital here.
Check in the settings that you have set LoadingMT=0, then report back :)

"Spring Engine guys" just said that issues shouldn't be discussed on both the forum and the bug tracker. It doesn't mean simple players who don't care how bugs are corrected can't report them here...

Re: Official OS X app for 32-bit Intel Macs?
I don't get it. Is there not a 32 bit version of spring? The mac version runs just fine on my 32 bit mac. Edit: My mac has a 32 bit duel core processor, but it's somehow running 64 bit applications just fine. Could the duel cores allow act like a 64 bit processor? Which CPU do you exactly have ? Co...

There is currently no 32 bit version of the engine, but I'm working on it (my free time is a bit sparse these days though)

Re: Official OS X app for 32-bit Intel Macs?
About 32 bit Spring: Now that NotaLobby also supports 32b, I will try to make a universal build very soon. I need to check for side effects. Note however that SpringLobby will remain 64b only for the time being, as it is much more complex to get a universal build. Finally, I'll need testers as I don...

Re: XTA for Mac?
why not make a portable version of Spring on Mac OS X ? For now, mostly for 2 reasons: - currently Spring.app is not bundled with any lobby, hence there is no self update system and you would have to download maps and games again inside each new bundle version. - assuming this was implemented, as a...

On Mac (as for Linux), games are to be located in ~/.spring/mods and the maps in ~/.spring/maps. You have to create these folders manually if they don't exist.

Re: new to mac...
Welcome aboard ;) So first things first. In order to play spring on Mac you need to create the folders via the terminal, which assumes you have a minimal unix/Linux background (not that far from the windows terminal for what is needed here). To create the folders, open tmr terminal application and h...
