engine settings profiles for graphics/performance
a thing lobby clients often have is a UI to edit the settings. Springlobby opens up spring settings (outdated), chobby has their own editor. None seem to have a detailed settings editor that directly includes all settings mentioned in the wiki https://springrts.com/wiki/Springsettings.cfg even if th...

Is that just a texture change or is it using some feature from the new version?

Re: Notes about performance, 105.0 vs 106.0 vs bar105 engines
Thanks, these are basic tests though. It'd be nice to do proper benchmarking.
I've updated the tests to use "vsync off", show the speed multipliers and ram usage and to use the latest BAR105 release which has a fix for a performance issue with rendering icons.

Re: Notes about performance, 105.0 vs 106.0 vs bar105 engines
hmm, but isn't 105.0 x64 as well?
Another thing i failed to notice on my first test is how much spring slowed down the game. I recorded fps, but not game speed.

Re: Notes about performance, 105.0 vs 106.0 vs bar105 engines
Another test, checking ram usage MF v1.80 comet catcher redux v2 disable luaui, disable luarules --- 105.0 2.75 GB --- BAR105-769 3.42 GB --- 106.0 3.06 GB the new engines seem to consume more ram than 105.0, at least when the game starts, and BAR105 consumes the most. EDIT: another player tested an...

yes, otherwise i'd be unable to compare with 106.0 as it breaks with my lua code.

Notes about performance, 105.0 vs 106.0 vs bar105 engines
I've done some basic testing to compare performance of 105.0 with the latest official engine release and the latest BAR105 engine release. MF v1.80 comet catcher redux v2 disable luaui, disable luarules (use tab hotkey for zoom out top view) vsync off --- spring_105.0_windows-64 spawn 5000 aven_magn...

Nice work, thanks!
some MF players are still incompatible with it for now but I'll check it eventually.

Re: Lobby Server + Spads + Spring in one lan
You wrote that the other PCs are using win 7, so they should work with Spring 104.0 and later.
The BA development that kept to 9.46 for a while eventually made new versions compatible with 104.0 and then 105.0 and the battle rooms on the official server were updated (now V14.4.0).

Hi, have you solved your problem?
Is there a particular reason to run your own uberserver? Why not connect to the official server through the internet and play there?

Looks nice. Thanks :)
For consistency, if the metal spots are relatively lower yield compared to other maps (1.6 vs 2.1), they could look a bit smaller or more fragmented.

Re: release a windows build for Spring develop engine
I don't get the hostility Ivand, please don't revive drama... Asking for a windows build from the develop branch is perfectly reasonable. According to springfiles, there was a develop branch build for win64 in may 2021 , but it was cleaned up. The only zip with a win32 build from the develop branch ...

Re: Vision for a Open Source RTS games Community
Stuff I might find useful for open source game dev communities that might work across different engines: 1- library of shareable assets: 3d models, textures, sounds, etc. which can be useful across games 2- places where people can promote stuff : latest developments, tournaments, etc. in a way that ...

Re: Requiem on Spring Community (& -> Ideas for the future)
I agree that would help - or just have the default view with "most current topics across all boards" (if that's available as an option). But I think a) - you'd need to make a new thread if you want anyone to notice your suggestion :). and b) - Dunno if anyone is still going to invest time...

Re: Requiem on Spring Community (& -> Ideas for the future)
A thing I notice is the lack of an easily accessible "active topics" button on the forum header. Users that are logged in can access it via "quick links" > "active topics", but even then it only shows the latest 7 days. I think we need the link in a more visible place. ...
