Re: BA 8.08 Released!
Left+Middle is a no-go imo until I grow another hand. Lots of keybindings are unusable on non-english keyboard layouts. At least on my german keyboard its quite bad. I am unable to find out how to rotate buildings with keys :( Also same in Finnish keyboard, but that is the reason why I always nowad...

Re: BOTA Relaunch - Is there interest?
I made Bota 1.7 Beta 10.1 and submitted to springfiles but I think it got lost, not sure. Also was doing Beta 10.2 but never got ready with it and by then Spring had "broken" it even more. Below are the changes, and one open TODO, that I did and why: Anyways I gave BOTA17Beta10_1.sd7 and B...

Re: TASClient? Facebook Cross-Domain Messaging helper-spring
I also noticed on my Win8 that Tasclient was popping three browsers at start which of two were going to Facebook sites that were "security risks". However, I applied Jools' suggestion of just disabling news, and no more issues :) Anyways, I am using TASClient so do not kill it. I have no i...

Re: HELP STEAM USERS!
Yeah indeed we did not hijack any players from evolution battle rooms (or even from channel). Two players just randomly got to XTA battle room and we thought they want to play (and we to play with few new players too). So it was more like two clueless pagans wandering in forest and hitting our house...

Re: HELP STEAM USERS!
Hi all, only noticed this stuff yesterday. I think that this, having game at Steam, is great thing. Also it will provide lots of valuable information (about user experience, issues, etc). There might be need for lobby tutorial (embedded into lobby) to minimize player churn (= people dropping out bef...

Re: AMD Mantle support
Hmm interesting thing, indeed best option is to get opengl (or directx) drivers as fast as possible without any 3rd "dirty" solution. "Now the golden question that comes to my mind is this: If Nvidia could do all this with a Soft update, why didn’t it do it before. The obvious answer ...

Re: AMD Mantle support
Thanks from that thread link, did not notice that earlier - interesting stuff. As a side note: just found this http://news.softpedia.com/news/NVIDIA-Intel-and-AMD-Join-Forces-to-Improve-OpenGL-Performance-Up-to-15-Times-433380.shtml I would be happy if they managed to make it 1.5x faster for starter...

AMD Mantle support
I am wondering would it be possible to add support for AMD Mantle? As spring is sort of swarm game which benefits most of it. Swarm test result comparisons: http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/175881-amd-mantle-benchmarked-the-biggest-innovation-in-gaming-since-directx-9/2 Also I have no idea how easy...

Smoth, thanks for correction - changed title.
Forbidden Angel, interesting. I have no idea what blueprint is but that ssmf is new map format. I will look those once I progress first otherwise with the tool.

A simple Spring map compilation "tool"
Hi all, I made a small tool, which uses Beherith's mapconv, to make Spring maps fast (fast also means here not so great quality and so far limited control on creation). Fast here does not refer to fast compiling of map, but to minimal amount of input needed. Anyways I found this tool I made in 2009/...

Possible to add ForceDisableShaderSupport ?
Hi, I am experiencing big trouble getting Spring to work with my Radeon 5850 / Win 7 64-bit / various catalyst versions (goes to blue screen or in --safemode mostly freezes and hang detection occurs). I have tried various things to find solution to get it to work. And yes, I have tried all parameter...

Re: Spring 0.95 - BSODing / hanging
Spring seems to work on my second PC (on Radeon 6850 & Windows 8.1 PRO/16GB). Maybe BSOD and/or freeze is some sort Win7 / 5850 driver etc issue.

Re: Spring 0.95 - BSODing / hanging
spring --safemode seems to remove BSOD but it still freezes immediately when count down counter goes from 3 to 1. I also tried your LoadingMT = 0 it seemed to change loading process a bit , but after it freeze happens exactly similarly. So LoadingMT = 0 does not seem to help. I have all those 3DTree...

Re: Spring 0.95 - BSODing / hanging
Added that shadows configuration too, but it still hangs. However now the "game start timer" goes from 3, 2, 1 and then freezes, whereas earlier it froze at 3 (at least most of the time).

Re: 0.95 is shit, keeps crashing for no reasons.
Reset the spring to 0.94, never ever crashed before all the versions. Now I crash every 10 minutes for no apparent reasoning, turned everything to low, set the shaders and all the crap to 0. Reinstalled the game twice. Still fucking crashing Fuck 0.95 what a piece of shit. Hmm, I am interested in k...

Spring 0.95 - BSODing / hanging
I am getting BSOD or hang with many of Spring maps with XTA 9.731 (cannot yet recognize any pattern on which maps it hangs/BSODs). So I get map loaded and rendered to screen, and then I see count down value "3 seconds" but then system immediately freezes. Screen is no longer updated and mo...

Re: ATI slow performance in 0.94.x versions
Well crazy settings or no but those have worked just smoothly for me before 94x versions. But yeah maybe I drop then few particles away :)
I have played long games and 5 vs 5 games etc no problems with those settings before 94x versions, hence I wonder who is foobar - my settings or spring core :)
