Re: Licensed content in a Spring game
DRM is difficult with open source. Effectively impossible with just Spring. You'd have to rely on another tool and even then I'm not sure how you'd use such content...

Re: The end of the maintenance branch
If I get it right the gajop's proposal is to switch to GH Actions after 105. Yep. And I'll go one step further and say that we should slowly migrate other parts of our infra to GH or similar alternatives (e.g. mantis -> GH issues, self-hosting engine releases -> GH releases). While I'm in favor of ...

Re: The end of the maintenance branch
After 105 I'd like to move to GH actions for engine builds. I found myself unable to fix anything despite having some permissions. I managed to force builds but with no working builders that didn't work. I managed to ssh into springfiles and witness various issues but I couldn't do anything due to l...

Autodeletion of builds & types of buildbot (split from end of maintenance branch)
ok, i can do this. Thats create 105.0 from maintenance + drop the maintenance branch, right? I'll try to so on monday: break-day! 8) Can you please also prevent the script from deleting old builds? At the very least keep the latest 100 builds or so. Right now it's deleting them based on date,...

Re: Autohosts operating non-downloadable engines
On https://springrts.com/dl/buildbot/default/maintenance/ I see only one version: 104.0.1-1560-g50390f6 Does this mean all other versions are not downloadable? Correct. And even that one includes only win32 because the linux and win64 buildbots aren't working. We should really switch to Github Acti...

Re: The end of the maintenance branch
@ivand: as i have few time and i don't see a future for 32bit builds atm, i guess its time to get rid of them. this solves some disk space issues / buildbot worker resource issues, too. When looking forward IMHO we can't deal well with 32 bit crash reports i guess. So setting up springlobby x64 + l...

Would be interesting, and I think the general model can be applied to RTS too (certain WC3 mods had this feel).

Re: [misc] upgrading to phpbb 3.3.1 aka the upgrade hell
I think that Abma should find a successor for himself or at least someone who can do all that he can do, because this is not sustainable. https://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=33804 Can you provide some links to where the springfiles server code is? (both frontend and backend) In par...

Re: Request for BA repo transfer from Bluestone
Vbs I recommend you revert that decision and get back to handling the BA repo. From what I can tell from the last few posts you've been making the most pragmatic decisions and it seems likely both Ares and Bluestone could work well with you. Other than that I hope that both old and new BA developers...

I offered to help and gave some comments on the draft version of the PR. I'm confused why this was already abandoned and what the engine fork will achieve.

Re: Chili Progressbar
Latest chili can be found here: https://github.com/gajop/chiliui
Progress bar is usually for display while the sliders are for interaction. Your idea is probably still possible though, but you may have to look into Chili source code to figure out how to achieve this.

Re: Automatic uploads of engine (crash) logs
spring-launcher uses this service and I include the launcher log in one file with engine log. In particular I do this because it allows me to see data in a synchronized fashion which makes lobby issues easier to debug. Any reason this would cause problems for engine devs or otherwise complicate pars...
