Never mind, seems to pull them from SpringFIles using the Title / Version field
Edit:
It's actually the file name not the Title.

Yup that was it. Thanks!!
I see where it pulls the mods from, where does it grab the map names from? map:The Rock Final doesn't work.

SpringLobby Download Archive not working
Hello, So I have just compiled SpringLobby from the github repo, but for some reason the Download Archive is not working for games or maps. I was able to grab spring 103.0 just fine. I am also able to download games and maps from games in the battle list. Doing game:zk:stable wont work. The error in...

Re: Is there a "lobby like" application for creating script.txt files?
I'd just start from scratch, maybe take one or 2 things Hmm, I thought about it. But there are some nice features of springlobby. Replays, spring settings, unitsync integration, Map Preview Rendering/selection, Start Spot selection, game settings, map settings, settings.txt generation. These things...

Re: Is there a "lobby like" application for creating script.txt files?
The answer is no, and your solutions so far are basically reinventing the lobby but doing 99% of the work of setting up a game by hand. I think you mostly get it. I would disagree about the 99% part. I think the hard part of setting up a game is picking the game/map, and setting up all the settings...

Yup it's still there. But you can't add other players, only AI.AF wrote:I'm sure I remember launching SpringLobby and using the singleplayer launcher without needing to connect and login to a server? Except you totally encouraged me earlier :DPicassoCT wrote:i want it written down i had no part in this :D
But honestly. I can't imagine that happening with what I am thinking of. Maybe springlobby will do packages. The rapid thing kinda smells like a package manager already.

I can't disagree. I still think it's too much.abma wrote:only thing is that you need a second port opened for the lobby server.

Re: Is there a "lobby like" application for creating script.txt files?
is the need to play without internet connection? FYI: the lobby server can be run locally, too. Yes it can. I have tired it. I had to ask the admin to open more ports. Players could also not use rapid to grab maps/mods. That was solved by a usb stick. As I said above. Each feature adds requirements...

Re: Is there a "lobby like" application for creating script.txt files?
depends on the usecase. still interesting that you write your own cli lobby-like program in c which basicly converts a json file into a script.txt file. very likely a script could do the same in 1/100 of lines of code, so i see bloat there, too ;-) Yea totally! That is why I said above that I think...

I'm trying not to. Really, if I was smart I would just steal spring lobby and pair it down. Why am I opening documentation on Unitsync? Help me...........

Technically I already did :/ https://github.com/hansonry/SpringScript

Re: Is there a "lobby like" application for creating script.txt files?
So - SL works for you and your objections to it are entirely ideological? Yes. But it is sooooooo much more than I need. Don't get me wrong. I think it is a good program, and obviously many people are happily using it. Had you arrived here 10 years ago, you might have actually been forced to do (so...

Re: Is there a "lobby like" application for creating script.txt files?
again: whats the issue with springlobby which prevents you to using it? Sorry I couldn't give you a better answer earlier. I didn't understand what was bugging me. It's not that I don't like springlobby, I just don't like the idea of a large lobby program. Springlobby like all lobbies need a connec...

Is there a "lobby like" application for creating script.txt files?
I don't know if this is the right place to ask this. But I am looking for a program like Spring Lobby that has none of the IRC or battle list functions. This program would allow you to select a game and a map, select settings, add bots, players (with passwords), and set their colors/teams, and selec...

Re: Those of you who don't use Lobbies, How do you Launch Spring?
Maybe this is the wrong interruption of his question but I imagine, since bots are hosted on at least one of the clients (rather than the server), he's looking for specifying which client 's cpu does the actual work ? Sorry if I'm way off in my train of thought but in the lobbies I thought I rememb...

I have a prof of concept here:
https://github.com/hansonry/SpringScript
This makes generating script.txt files a bit easier. It needs to go though a couple of iterations, but I got a LAN game working.
