Re: U.N. okays military action on Libya
Just because a prejudice is popular, does not mean it's neutral. Spliff's statement was offensive to anyone supportive of the USA in their recent military actions. So "fascist warmonger" constitudes a protected minority now? Nice to hear, we have some neo-nazis over here that we could gla...

Re: Google Summer of Code 2010
Chiming in after a few years, just because i am amused that you even tried it again this year. Spring will NEVER get into Google Summer of Code. Want to know why? Lets think about what those people do when they get an application. They take a look at the website, and at the forum. Reading a few thre...

Re: ROAM terrain rendering, help us make spring much faster!
One heretic thought:One might even be thinking that an engine is part of a game, and thus "making a game" might include "working on that engine". But otoh, somebody has a serious opinion of entitlement (see the other thread, where he whines around that AI coders dont spend enough...

Re: the real bottleneck
A cache miss on the look-up-table will be a lot slower than just calculating it. even a L2 _hit_ wont be that much faster.
The correct way would be using the fast sqrt provided by the common SIMD extensions (which use hardware look-up+newton-raphson)

This thread will achieve nothing. Except getting people to talk about it. The problem with 80% of the player base thinking this is all that is spring.. Actually, the only thing idiotic posts like yours (or all your other image macro posts) will archive is to create an intense impression that you ar...

My guess would be a core player group of about 200-400. They play regularly. Add to this a group of about 100 Players per months who play for a while and then get turned away by the assholes in the client-chat and the general unfriendliness of certain high-level forum posters. (min3mat, dasbruce (do...

Re: ...
The idea to name it to XTA: It seemed cleaner and more professional, to have a unified name instead of version 6,7,8 etc... If someone is using the wrong version, the lobby will tell them (red x). Thats no argument at all. Want to know why? It shouldnt look unified because it ISNT unified. Just lik...

Yeah, this is for ingame resolution, not just desktop resolution. This is unfortunate. It seems the majority is split between 1024x768 and 1280x1024, which use different aspect ratios, messing everything up. I'm still trying to figure out why 1280x1024 became the standard rather than 1280x960. The ...

New zooming behaviour
I am not sure if its a bug or a feature, but i have some complaints about the "to cursor" zoom in combination with the minimap. Often, navigating via minimap clicking and dragging is quite fast and nice, but currently, when zooming in/out while doing so, it does zoom towards the top left c...

Could someone remove those small white squares from each corner in the minimap? Dont remove it completely, but put them to be shown when you point at minimap, and when you arent pointing at minimap, they doesnt show. to add to this, how about tooltips? i always click the wrong one and end up full-s...
