Why dont we learn chinese and join theirs? Or for that matter, why did we not all learn swedish, so we could all talk to the SYs in their native language?

New phone

My phone is basically dead. Its died a slow and painful death (not helped in the least by dropping it in the sink...), and I think it is time to say goodbye. So, now I need a new one. What phone should I get? Basically, it needs to be able to SMS/text people, and call people. All that other junk can...

Re: Texture Space, Theory and Practice.

Your bomber skin is a pretty efficient skin, I agree. With a minor effort, it could be made more efficient, but in this case it is not really worth it. However, the map you posted at the start of the thread? HORRIBLE. While the unit itself does look good, yes, it could look better with a VERY minima...

Re: Skinning Contest.

OK, slightly off subject, but anyways... Argh, if you are going to make a competition centered around a supplied model that we are not allowed to modify, at least make the model a good one. I'm not talking about looks, with a good texture the model itself can look alright. I'm talking about the tech...

Re: Squad Stuff

Oh, and Mael... you can probably solve your specific problem with Factories by calling the create-a-squad LUA via LuaCOB a frame after Create() finishes. At least, that's my working theory, I'm going to test it now... Oh no, i have already solved it, don't worry. I was just pointing out a potential...

Re: Is it me or...

You can still use all the old hotkeys and what not, nothing has changed there. All they have done is add some buttons to the bar up top, which can be disabled anyways, hiding away all the new buttons. The little thing in the corner is useful, for instance if your working away in the insides of a mod...

I liked the face, but not for a Core unit. If it was for a non TA mod where everything was like that then it would look great.

My only criticism is that some of the rocket/projectile trails look patchy. As in you can see that the trail is made up of lots of separate particles. While not a huge deal, it doesn't quite look as good as a distinctly solid trail looks.

i relaised that after i did it, but i intended to fill it 100% with teamcolour anyway, so for me it matters not. In which case it could have been about 3x3 pixels big, and no one would notice the difference :P Also, try disabling the background image in the UV mapping window. ("View -> Show/Hi...

Do remember that you only load the texture once. It doesn't matter how often you see the unit, it matters how much detail you need to put into it. While this is true, huge textures also come with other problems. The bigger a texture is... 1) the longer it takes to load that first time. For example,...

Incidentally, this first panel shows Alex, the club president/chairperson and the St. Lucia campus. I had to be careful so that she stood out against the background, but not so much it was obvious, not sure how well I managed that. Oh, and this being set in Britain, the sky is, as usual, overcast. ...
