Can we have an arm64 version
Can we have a version of spads that compiles on the arm64 system? Considering that these are nowadays very common, and that this architecture also rhymes better with the OTA-world.

Re: anyone still playing XTA?
The autohosts were shut down by abma, wer'e now playing other games mainly because it's so difficult to set up a working spring game.

Is it fun to lock threads?
I just wonder, because there are such a big amount of them. Other forums don't seem to behave this way.

Re: SPADS AutoHost
Would it be possible to build a version of spads also for Arm (armhf)? Did I already ask?

Re: Core engine needs an arm version
No, I'm not aware of it but not surprised. So in essence, spring has no players and no developers, but still in strict need of moderators to shut everybody down?

Core engine needs an arm version
Engine, specifically spring-dedicated needs to have an version in arm/armhf so that today's server platforms can run it. Restricting the server to x86 is lackluster.

Re: arm and core balance
Right, so it's the spring dedicated that needs to be in arm. Actually, arm is very popular nowadays for servers, partly because of its low energy needs. Could it be that you like to favour american tehcnology before european in your clinging to x86? But since most of the servers/VPS you can rent are...

arm and core balance
We would need to have a build of spads autohost for the arm, armhf and arm64 processors as well, and not just x86. This platform has increased in popularity and is a viable alternative nowadays.

Re: Upcoming lobby server updates
103 breaks compatibility with bos scripts and fixing it would require us to manually compile 750 scripts Since both BA & TechA rely on bos scripts, and have certainly not manually compiled each individual script, I don't believe this. If there is a degree of truth inside it somewhere, please ex...

Re: Upcoming lobby server updates
I'm afraid the real point here is that its not just about you or players of game xyz, who might well (at least, in the short term, before hardware progression catches up with you) subsist on with zero work / changes. The point is that engine devs usually provide the hardest work and ask for nothing...

Re: Migration of autohosts (BlackHoleHosts, elderbery, semprini, durian and lagonberry)
Heu, Finally managed to login to the forum, there was some issue with the captcha: I thought I had the wrong password but I was just all the time making the wrong captcha. The autohosts werent unmaintained, they just need very little intervention/can be maintained from the lobby server. I suspect th...

Re: anyone still playing XTA?
Nodaways we mainly play it four times a year at these LAN tournaments. Next one is in February I believe. The problem is that the official server stopped supporting older versions of spring and nobody wants to update XTA to newer engine version, because of unnecessary changes in the engine that actu...

Re: Remove some native AIs from spring?
currently afaik only CircuitAI is maintained, the others are basicly unmaintained for years. For simplifying maintenance and reducing compile time i suggest to remove AAI, E323AI and RAI because i remember them to have bad code or are more weak. If we always simplify maintenance then we also need f...

Spads crash when a certain player joins battle room
I think our xta autohost crashes when a certain player joins the battle room. In this case it's elderberry[Autohost]. The only thing I get in spads.log is this line before the crash: 20190831195625 - ERROR - [SPADS] <NoSmurfVoting> Minimum confidence is 90 NoSmurfVoting is a spads plugin that preven...

Re: A Handful of Questions
Maybe some of these would need their own thread (which may exist already). Why does it seem so hard to have any successful discussion on this forum? (Please: Use max of 5 words, and don't disagree with others. I want people to feel safe to say whatever***. And I want radical out-there opinions. Jus...

Re: SpringLobby battlelist improvements
But you still need some width for the content in the column, which has words. So why not words in the heading. Also, the sword symbol is bad. Use a gun then.

Re: SpringLobby battlelist improvements
I don't like the sword image to signify battle. This is not a medieval jousting game, but instead robots are fighting each other. Remove the symbol and use words instead.

I wish there were something to also prevent all updates. Those are the most annoying things today on the net:
i) ads
ii) software updates
