Re: Power abuse by admins
Couldn't there be some kind of control on the admins or the hosts? Yes. There is - and it is not achieved with a post in the "General Discussion" forum. Speak to Shockwave, [Fx]Bluestone, or (if you have a complaint in general about a host) to any one of the lobby moderators - people with...

Power abuse by admins
I have an issue with the BlackHoleHost. There are a few admins who abuse their power without problem and nothing is being done. Couldn't there be some kind of control on the admins or the hosts? This is pretty lame. If you want people to play the games at least treat them with some dignity and respe...

I want to play with the pathfinding..
I lately got very annoyed with the pathfinding. It was pretty much the sole reason of losing in some battles. As I have a good background in ANSI C and programming in general I was thinking to play a bit with it in case I am able to fix some issues I found. I haven't ever touched the engine before s...

Re: Unofficial spring pages / profiles on social media
I received this message from Knorke and I thought I'll reply here: Huhu I was looking at same spring-related pages, especially older ones and what to do with them. So came across: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Lua_in_SpringRTS It seems to be from written by you in 2010 mostly. Since then spring wiki ...

Why not plain Beyond Reason? Beyond All Reason sounds a bit comical.

Re: Ubuntu: Where is 0.96?
Hello, 96.0 is available in Debian unstable but not for Ubuntu 14.04 yet because Ubuntu is in a feature freeze now. See this sync request on Launchpad. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/spring/+bug/1280446 In the meantime you can grab the package from Debian unstable directly https://packag...

Ubuntu: Where is 0.96?
I have been away for a while and now I felt like playing again but I seem to be able and fetch the older 0.95 from repository? There is also a thread on the static package bellow but there is not any guide. How can I use the static package? I just replace the normal installation files(where are they...

Re: [Watchdog] Hang detection triggered for Spring 89.0 (OMP
Search around the forums for how to disable eaxrevb which seems to be broken in current spring. Could be the same problem you are having and in that case i think your method just alleviates the problem, but does not tackle the root cause. I had already all effects disabled(for normal user). Not sur...

Lowering the "Maximum Simultaneously Sounds" to 40 at Spring Settings seems to solve this..

as exactly described in the linux install guide for ubuntu i am guessing? did you not find it? or just search the software center and assume that version was ok? not asking to troll you i am asking to see if instructions can be improved. Yes. However the instructions at http://springrts.com/wiki/Ub...

Re: 0.89 on Linux?
After some search I just found out that I had to manually update the repository for Spring. Then I could just upgrade from apt-get.liamdawe wrote:There is no .89 for 12.10, i'm very sure.

[Watchdog] Hang detection triggered for Spring 89.0 (OMP).
I can't play spring. I play for some minutes but then everything freezes and I get a bunch of errors like: Error: Stacktrace (main): Error: (Note: This stacktrace is not 100% accurate! It just gives an impression.) Error: Unable to create stacktrace Error: Stacktrace (audio): Error: No Stacktraces f...

Re: Run two instances of spring?
Try starting spring with a lobby to see how they should look like. Not sure what you mean with that. I also tryied running spring with: spring -s -C server.conf and spring -c -C client.conf and many other ways. In all occasions I get into that menu. With the second command in fact I get straight to...

Re: Run two instances of spring?
Sure it's possible. Just start with spring twice each time using a different script.txt (one for the host one for the client). More proper setup is to have 2 separate data directories (e.g. so your infolog is not a merge from the two running instances). You start each spring with an additional para...

Run two instances of spring?
I want to test something and I need to run two instances of spring on the same computer. So practically I want to play against me on the same computer. Is that possible? I would do my testing on my eee901 but it has not the horsepower to compile from source(don't either want to fill it with unnecesa...

Re: How port mod to map?
Ok, I managed to port it. However I am wondering how I can make the mod options appear in the map. Would it work to just rename "ModOptions.lua" to "MapOptions.lua"?
