Re: Common accounts for the entire spring ecosystem?

"You do realize how incredibly ignorant you sound right now?" contains no constructive comment, no recognition of subjectivity, and could easily be construed as offensive by the person it is aimed at. Consequently, it is not an acceptable response. Agonizing over whether such a case should be labell...

Re: On Bans

code of conduct Provided that it leaves lobby moderators with freedom to react as they think best, I don't have any objection to having one, but in the past there has never been enough consensus on what it should say e.g. https://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=36406#p583508. @gajop: As we...

Re: On Bans

For these forums, https://springrts.com/wiki/Felony For the lobbyserver we don't use such strictly defined standards. The ToS disallow illegal activity and gives legal protections to Spring's server owners, and there are some requirements for botflags . Beyond that lobby moderators handle cases as t...

forum update/breakings?

Looks like some style changes for the forum have happened and broke some stuff. I noticed: 1) Line spacing on menus and some related stuff has gone fubar (e.g. quick links menu is now oddly double spaced) 2) Postlove is missing, miniprofile shows a blank "contact" field 3) Graphics on the buttons fo...

I don't think the idea of "legally" facilitating our users to break our own GPL license merits a serious response.

Re: which lobby is most popular nowadays? springlobby? zerok? other? my old favorite TASclient is long dead.

Wrong end of stick - since TASC uses unitsync, distributing it without source code would violate Springs GPL.

Aside from that (which I had thought was obvious anyway) I know nothing, see links above for info.

Re: which lobby is most popular nowadays? springlobby? zerok? other? my old favorite TASclient is long dead.

That's not the latest version ... the issue is ... Actually, the issue is that distributing the 'latest' (now several years old) binary of TASC would violate GPL, as the long departed original author did not upload their final source code to anywhere, and then became unresponsive. The good news is ...

Re: lobby usage statistics

As far as I know, no one is collecting these statistics.

However, iirc you do see it in the exit channel messages (if you have them enabled), and based on these I think that almost everyone currently uses SpringLobby, and most people use a latest-ish version.

Re: Springlobby connect window improvements

Yep, I'm afraid "login as guest" is not wanted, due to potential for abuse. (In fact, if there is any long term plan for logins, it is to require email verification, and partial support already exists inside uberserver.) Otherwise, the rest of it looks good, and ofc it should remember the value chos...

camera that moves around (fast enough) when bringing the mouse to the edge of the screen and DOES NOT ROTATE
Press ctrl + f2.

Also, complain to your game developer for not making that the default camera for your game.

Re: MapConv(NG) for Windows crash on big map sizes

Ok, I'll look at the error again when I'm home this week. If you could zip your heightmaps and upload them somewhere that would be handy. 32bit python ... some limit ... here as well? Not here - pymapconv has a different architecture. I think the size of map it will compile is basically limitless; a...

Is it known or shall we make a mantis report on it?
If there is no mantis report of it yet then it is very likely not known -> you should make one.

Re: MapConv(NG) for Windows crash on big map sizes

I don't think my suggested fix could have given the exact same error message.

All variables are defined, what's needed is effectively a type conversion, from int to a single element list.

Re: MapConv(NG) for Windows crash on big map sizes

I think you've found a bug that's likely only triggered if you use a low res (8-bit) height map. Try using a proper res (16-bit) height map.

Alternatively, quickfix attempt without reading any code:

Code: Select all

heights.append([sum(otherheight_pixels[col, row]) * 256 / 3])
