Re: Trying to make a map
Zero-K lobby fetches the thumbnail from the server, so there will be no thumbnail until you upload the map to springfiles. Perhaps the map size is similarly based on server data. So I wouldn't worry too much about the thumbnail. Also, if you don't include any minimap in your compiled map, the minima...

Front page trailer
Hi there. I noticed my 2011 trailer is on the front page of springrts.com, which is neat! I'd like to notify you that an updated version exists now, with graphical improvements that make things look a lot nicer, like an updated version of the map (Tropical-v2) and dynamic weapon lights. I recommend ...

Re: No shaders or shadows on linux (GTX 560 Ti)
Thanks Kloot, that did the trick! For some reason I never ran into an issue with having multiple springsettings on windows, and didn't even notice it was using multiple ones here, but now I'll be more careful with them.

No shaders or shadows on linux (GTX 560 Ti)
Hello! I had trouble compiling spring on windows, so I switched to linux. All seems to work well, except for some reason shaders & shadows don't function on this system. My card is GTX 560 Ti. Any idea how to fix this, please? When I do "/shadows 1" ingame, I get the message "Warn...

Re: Compiled on Windows, "Spring has crashed: Invalid handle"
Yeah cmake finds the mingwlibs fine. This is the cmake log output from the configure step: The C compiler identification is GNU 4.9.2 The CXX compiler identification is GNU 4.9.2 Check for working C compiler: C:/Program Files (x86)/mingw-w64/i686-4.9.2-posix-sjlj-rt_v3-rev1/mingw32/bin/gcc.exe Check...

Re: Compiled on Windows, "Spring has crashed: Invalid handle"
Yeah, I cloned the mingwlibs and put them into the spring source folder. So the folder looks like
Spring/mingwlibs
Spring/rts
Etc
I don't think there were any Cmake errors related to mingwlibs, but I'll double check on Wednesday when I'm back home.

Re: Compiled on Windows, "Spring has crashed: Invalid handle"
I see. I've compiled using make install, so I've already had the dll files in the spring folder.

Re: Compiled on Windows, "Spring has crashed: Invalid handle"
Hi abma and sprunk, The spring builds from here work just fine, whether they're 32 or 64: https://springrts.com/dl/buildbot/default/develop/ I also tried compiling the latest develop version of spring from 24.6.2017, and got the same issues with it. Putting mingwlibs to the spring engine folder didn...

Re: Compiled on Windows, "Spring has crashed: Invalid handle"
Bumpity bump. I ran into something that looks the same, at least on the surface. Spring crashes with "Invalid handle". Could you guys check this out? Thanks in advance! I'm on windows 7 64-bit, and used MinGW-w64 version 4.9.1 build revision 0 downloaded from here , as was instructed on th...

Reporting in! I have no idea how Evo plays, but a tournament sounds lots of fun anyway. I guess I have a month to find out about things. :)

How to get rid of the shift-speedup of zoom?
Hello! I have a problem with the speed increase that shift causes in the camera movement (default TA camera). I have unbound "movefast" from shift, and I no longer get the speedup in normal scrolling, but I still get it while holding shift and zooming with mousewheel. Especially when zoomi...

Re: GhostPeak - 8v8 map
Nice looking, and unique.
Would be cool though, if you could reduce the darkness of the middle mountain peak. It looks oddly dark.

So many ways to make textures I never even knew... thanks for the infos and keep em coming!
And yeah, that Ghost Peak map is quite pretty. Looks like Terragen is legit for texturing.

Re: Good ways to make texturemaps?
Thanks for tha replies! How is Blender for texturing? Does it have some kind of a terrain generation system? And aw yeah, and I missed L3DT. Indeed, it seems like a useful tool for multiple mapping things. I do prefer the textures Carrara makes though, they feel a bit more organic to me, and they're...

Good ways to make texturemaps?
Hello there! Through these forums I've already become aware of some cool ways to make a map texture. The Carrara tutorial by Beherith has been really helpful, thank you. Springmapeditor is also surprisingly good at texturing. And of course, Photoshop owns for post-processing and tweaking. There's is...

Widget request: Fog fixed
Hi there! Seth's Ravine is an awesome map, and the map's edges look really good, being obscured in fog. However, currently the fog widget breaks stuff. It makes startboxes completely opaque , and other widgets that use transparency in their textures lose the transparency, as shown here and here . I'...
