Re: New lobby server lead
I'm sorry for such a late reply, but better now than never :) Due to personal reasons I couldn't continue working much on the lobby for last few months and also, I had a lack of motivation too. Spring was a great hobby, I did enjoy it much and I learned a lot too. TASServer was my first "bigger...

Re: No more renaming.
Example of a new registry system: Send an email in to this forum request for your account, therefore, the moderators are the only ones able to produce accounts and may email the user their ID. Then they log into their ID and Set up a username and password. This would prevent multiple accounts, and ...

Re: No more renaming.
No that's just for internal use, it probably uses autoincrement index on the database too but you are recognized as "username" on the outside. Different forums would have different IDs for same username for example, so you can't count on that (if you would want to connect single account wi...

Re: No more renaming.
I'm not sure to understand this point. Indeed I don't want to be a number on the forum, but I don't want to be a number on the lobby neither... Why is it different ? However, it doesn't bother me that a number be associated to my account because it's the nickname that is showed on forums, not the i...

Re: No more renaming.
There wasn't much talk about it so far indeed, I only talked to Tobi and some other devs about it, but indeed I think everyone should participate in this :) First, about unique user IDs versus unique usernames: I think usernames have some advantages (but both would work well). The goal of this new s...

Re: TASClient logon problems
Because you did it wrong I guess. But can't say much without the source.
You should synchronize the thread that sends ping, also check out TWSocket options (make sure it is not in some mode that doesn't allow concurrent access).

Re: ATI or Nvidia
I have an old ATI Radeon 9000 card and it doesn't go too well with Spring (fine with other games though). Will buy nvidia for sure as my next card (better driver support, they release development docs, they do sponsorships etc., I just like them more :)

I've just uploaded it to the download page (both jar and exe). Or what's the problem?

Re: Spring 0.76b1 release
There were a few protocol changes, nothing much. All listed here: http://spring.clan-sy.com:8202/lobby/protocol/ProtocolDescription.xml Also with next release we will transfer all account to database (this was planned for this release but we ran out of time), so the web interface currently doesn't w...

What does this mean? And how do we use it? It's a new game mode option where you get to pick start positions in the lobby rather than in-game. Tobi will have to explain it more in detail as I wouldn't really know. There's been some talk over incompatibilities with the new TASServer command and the ...

If you want to see XML formated document, you must rather open:
