how do you make a unit drive backwards?

from way back in version 0.80.1.0

Engine / Simulation:
- units can now move backwards

native forwards/backwards movement has been in spring for a while, but I can't find anything explaining how to use it. Anyone know how to use this?

Sure ask away. The basics of it is everything uses guard commands. You put in a timer unit and have it guard some guys and when the timer goes off those guys will spawn in. If you have some units with nothing guarding them then they spawn in at the start. A player 1 unit (the big blue 1) guarding so...

The ewar isn't supposed to be a wide area jamming thing. It's more for hiding one of your big ships. The arm battlecruiser is especially effective under a jammer. They don't have torpedos so they aren't replacements for the dd.

It's a spring bug that affects gunships using fuel. It was introduced last version i believe

It happens when you don't have any enough free airpads for all the gunships to return to. The ones that don't have an empty pad reserved for them to go back to hang around until one is available.

The reverse script is pretty much the definition of lua trickery. It requires rescripting the cob file for each unit to alter the aiming code and flip the model when it drives backwards. An actual in-engine reverse would be much nicer. Lua already supports altering armor zones on the fly. If support...
