Re: Advance Wait Commands Don’t Work Anymore

I was playing around and timewait kinda works, except if a unit gets pushed too far away from the point by other units going to that point, in which case it switches over to the default wait until w is pressed thing. This leads me to think that something changed with how ranges are found from waypoi...

Re: Advance Wait Commands Don’t Work Anymore

That's a shame. I think the only reason people never used them was that you had to bind them manually. There actual extremely useful if you do use them. having automatic army's constantly going to keep pressure on your opponent, and supper helpful with troop transports.... And it was fun if you and ...

Advance Wait Commands Don’t Work Anymore

Been awhile since i played ol spring and apparently at some point all the advance wait key-binds , the /bind ones
squadwait and gatherwait
stopped working

now the units get to those points and just are issued a regular wait order and don't add to the points queue of units.

what up with that?

Re: Strategy games & cognitive abilities

People with A.D.D. have amazing puzzle solving skills, And A.D.D. (back in more hectic times) probably was invaluable when you had to have quick reflexes and a lot of energy to survive. Nowadays, were sitting quietly listening is the foundation of education, it is such a counterproductive trait, it ...

Re: Infogrames' latest strategy statement.

sry to be a little more of topic but.... every game about space marines is a rip off of Robert A. Heinlein's book "Starship Troopers"(1959) he basically came up with the whole space marines wearing power armor using drop ships to fight an alien bug army. but starcraft went straight to the ...

Re: Strategy games & cognitive abilities

sadly id say that games are probably responsible for the rise in A.D.D and even if its not, its defiantly the reason people get bored so quickly now a days probably not strategy games, but shooters and what not, really if you think about it, its like having a person use a reflex tester 3 hours strai...

Re: First Person View Improvements + Suggestion

I hate the current FPS abuses problems already (extra range)... I vote no :/ People seem to get butt hurt about this, why not add a check box to allow fps mode. Like it already dose with the limit d gun to starting positions or diminish metal maker returns. Seams every so often, somebody proposes t...

Had a Bad-ass hero in adventure mode, was legendary axe and armor user. i was killing cyclopes like nothing. but I made the mistake of walking to close to a rive. Carp jumped out pulled me into the water where him and about 4 others riped me apart.

Re: Why Do Traditional Rts In The New Millennia Suck?

Rome total war was a damn good game, but it├óÔé¼Ôäós not on the list because it├óÔé¼Ôäós not a traditional rts. Same reason I didn├óÔé¼Ôäót include: close combat, sudden strike, ground control, and world in conflict ext A traditional rts has base building and resource managing on the Battlefield. No...

Re: Why Do Traditional Rts In The New Millennia Suck?

The upkeep makes perfect sense as a way to give the player with less army some kind of advantage to try and balance it out. About heroes, what's an army without a leader? It's nice to have some variety in games, not every game has to be about spamming econ and then mass producing units at the right...

Re: Why Do Traditional Rts In The New Millennia Suck?

Yeah... I guess I├óÔé¼Ôäóm a freak for likeing to build base defenses, and enjoyed the exponential money making that comes from focusing on an economy. Along with building an army. Apparently I├óÔé¼Ôäóm the only guy that liked those parts. Every game now has a bold emphasis that says ├óÔé¼┼ô Simple ...

Re: Why Do Traditional Rts In The New Millennia Suck?

It may work against the AI but the AI is not a benchmark of how the game is balanced and you cannot call the game bad just because its AI won't be able to cope with every strategy, RTSes are meant to be played against people and people will rape you if you try something as stupid as that. CoH isnâ...

Re: Why Do Traditional Rts In The New Millennia Suck?

My favorite funny/inaccurate thing in CoH is building a shit-ton of AT guns and telling them to attack move. They kick ass, and it hilarious watching them come charging in carrying those thing like wheel barrels, and all this machine gun fire and what not isn't doing crap to them. 1. You're doing i...

Re: Why Do Traditional Rts In The New Millennia Suck?

No your right, a few decent games have been released. Just none that stack up with the greats, like I said it├óÔé¼Ôäós not nostalgia, I play the new games for a while, have some fun. Then go back to the same Old. And it├óÔé¼Ôäós not just me. All my friends that are big into strategy games are the sa...
