Re: Nouveau driver and Spring

This problem sounds similar to the problem of using gnash for viewing flash. Not all functionality is present or works correctly, and in some cases, it's impossible to do certain tasks if you can't develop it yourself. It turns out Intel integrated graphics in Intel processors works out of the box f...

Re: Looking for a sound guy to make some explosions/shot sounds

https://www.sounddogs.com/category-search-subcategories.asp?Type=1&CategoryID=1027 Has many selections of guns sounds along with some choices of sounds from different studios for the same gun. However, the sound may come in lossy formats like mp3. And I believe they have reasonable terms of lice...

Re: Shin Gundam Musou will be coming out to english language

I played Gundam Crossfire, but controls weren't so good and many other issues with that game. I been playing DW Gundam 3 more recently. Many gundam choices are nice, but I didn't get to see some of the mobiles suits that I would've like to see such as GN Flags, some variation of GM mobile suits like...

Re: [LAPTOP]Choice 15' fullHD linux gpu

You should wait until Nvidia launches Maxwell GPU in Q1 2014. why is that? Also long time no see! HI! Well it depends. Newer graphics may be rebadge or newer architecture depending on where they are on the roadmap. Newer GPU may come with support for newer version of OpenGL. Unlike CPU, GPU can be ...

Whatever happened to RDIMM support?

I recently looked into some hardware with ECC support and noticed that the mainstream Intel server processors and chipsets only support ECC UDIMM. Only Intel chipset that seems to support RDIMM is overpriced and disappointing 2011. On the otherhand, AMD consumer line all support ECC UDIMM, and ECC R...

Hopefully whatever problem is fixed by next release of eclipse IDE which is tomorrow.

Video Capture from Digital Source

Recently I been looking into buying video capture device for capturing videos from HDMI output. Few years back, most of them were offering capture from analog source because of HDCP. Nowadays, they have HDMI input and output for HDMI pass through and recording. Despite this, they don't strip HDCP, a...

Re: Poll: Is a game with more units better?

+1

If teammates leave after death or near death, then less unit per player means he, she, or they are at numerical disadvantage. Hence if the stalemate occurs, then it ends up being attrition for numerically disadvantaged player. Thus, it's not fair to have small unit caps like 1000.

Re: Finaly, I have the true Internet !!

I would guess the average user would probably get under 54 megabits because that's the max speed of most wifi. I used to own 54mbps wifi router, but upgraded because of lower speed due to processing needs like QOS. But then processing needs doesn't end there as a source of speed loss. The standard ...

Well, some are getting gigabit internet already, and more recently Google fiber for some Kansas residents, but for most cases it be laughing matter if someone claimed that he or she have gigabit internet at a low price.

Re: Secure Platform Independent File Transfer

The thing that I was looking for were cost effective hardware implementations of 2 to 4 bays file server or NAS with RAID 0 and 1. Something that is quiet and consume little power, yet something that doesn't spin down the disk. Diskless recommendations are fine too. I currently use SSH software that...

Great solid advice guys. Thanks a lot! Much appreciated. I'll most probably order it next week, and when I do, let you know what I've decided on exactly. :-) Third generation Intel Processor Ivy Bridge has been out for almost a year now and the new architecture Haswell will be released around Q2 of...

you are skeptical of sterling engines?!? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rd7nLOEsqj8 -- a good explanation (sixty symbols) That video was better than the most. Re: Gravity powered lamp

I've been thinking about building a solar generator but I'm not sure on how to turn hot water into electrical energy. Turning hot water into steam for expansion would be best bet. I think it be costly though since solar power does not give great amount of output. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJGp...

Re: Gravity powered lamp

Let's not ever forget energy can not be created or destroyed due to mainly friction. That means, the energy must come from some mass. I was confused by how stirling engine works. The heat source expands the gas and push the pistons away from the heat source. And on the otherside of the piston is coo...

Re: Gravity powered lamp

From the video, I see chain like string for rotating the gear. So, when they pull up, it will send kinetic energy to the DC motor. The name made it sound like it is only powered by the gravity, but it will also be powered on its way up like it is shown in the video. The energy transferred on its way...

Well, put it more discreetly, when I said guns, I meant, guns, cannons, artilleries, and other projectile weapons that fires a projectile that does not accelerate while in midair. When I said missile, I meant rockets and missiles that have rocket engine to accelerate while in flight. If you take a l...
