Re: Google Code To Close
For windows users averse to command-line I can't recommend SourceTree enough: https://www.atlassian.com/software/sourcetree/ The only downside is lack of shell integration but you'll soon get over it. It is much better than GitHub 4 Windows. I wholeheartedly disagree, the best Git GUI is SmartGit h...

Global Game Jam
Did anyone else do GGJ this year? We managed to smash this turn based strategy game out in the last 48 hours (worms in space is what we were going for): http://globalgamejam.org/2015/games/gravityjam http://globalgamejam.org/sites/default/files/styles/game_content__wide/public/games/screenshots/grav...

Re: Etiquette for non-programmers who want to make a game?
Why not start with helping out an existing project with modeling (such as BAR or Zero K)? This will help you understand how to actually get assets into a game, and also start building a rapport so people in the community would more likly help you.

Hint: add a maintenance file on the old server and redirect all traffic to it after DNS change to alert users who have DNS cached.

Re: What working AIs are out there right now?
If it's specific to ZK just hard code a list of units which are factories. It make sense for a project to keep that kinda stuff simple, and work on the actual AI logic. Thats what I did for my uni project: https://github.com/Petah/BAI/blob/8691cf5a08a8ca2fdf7d8bb2fa504b013c385515/data/0.1/settings/d...

Re: Planetary Annihilation (Incoming Moon Drops!)
I got it for $30 a while ago. I think it was worth the money. Its an ok game, but I like BA/Spring much more than PA.
I think I would have paid like $80 for TA and like $40 for the expansions back in the day, and I think that was worth it.

Although not an exact answer to your question, you can have a look at how my AI planned and captured metal spots:
