I'm on a 64 bit. So the win32 scared me off.

Re: Spring Wont Update.

I am having a similar problem. My Spring says:
your version: .35
current version: .43

Then it says autoupdate failed.

TABA stands for TA: BA or Total Annihilation Bad Ass. The name was generated after my nickname Ba (Ba-) but most will just call it TABA and leave it at that.

Re: TA game engine TABA mod move to Spring!

A lot of the features you describe arent exactly innovations to Spring, since Spring allows for a much, much larger range of features than OTA: However, a lot of the scripts and tricks that exploit bugs and loopholes in the OTA engine simply wont work in Spring. They are pretty trivial to program i...

Re: TA game engine TABA mod move to Spring!

What does your project add to ota? What kind of upgrades have you done to the unit appearances? My mod adds some variations and cool concepts to OTA such as found in the thread MidNight linked to: http://tauniverse.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39945 The main topics there: Adjusted Balance - Class Sys...

TA game engine TABA mod move to Spring!

Hello, I am the creator of the TA engine mod, TABA. Recently I have decided that I would like to make the move to Spring because of its capabilities over the TA engine. One thing is for sure, I'm going to need some help. If anyone has experience in porting TA mods to Spring I would appreciate assist...

Yes, I did mean 'pop-up' randomly on the map (or you specify where they go).

Re: Mod Question Repository... Questions come in, answers go out

Few more questions (some lua related?)... 1. Is it possible to spawn features, such as trees? 2. I know the traditional 2 resource system is all spring allows for, but after looking at a mod called Fibre , I am wondering if it is possible to support a hackish 3rd resource without the community pool,...

Re: OTA-> Spring lua capabilities

I see. Does this allow for manipulation of fbi traits? Or morphing from one unit to the next?

Wondering what program I should use for .lua files because notepad does not organize it in an eye-pleasing way.

Re: OTA-> Spring lua capabilities

I don't quite get how you really use lua for a particular unit script. Do you like have ARMCOM.lua instead of ARMCOM.cob?

Re: OTA-> Spring lua capabilities

yay! The all-powerful zwzsg is here! Active in both TAU and spring forums... impressive :). Any chance i can find exactly where a list of these new get/set commands are, like set MAX_SPEED;? This could be very helpful... And i guess i'll have to decide, if lua is best or if ota detect scripts are th...

Re: Mod Question Repository... Questions come in, answers go out

So i'm guessing shields on pretty much every unit that would be turning on and off would be too CPU-intensive? I know spring can have more than 3 weapons per unit... what is the max amount of weapons per unit tho? I heard somewhere that shields can actually deflect weapons, rather than just absorb t...

Re: WeaponTypes

My understanding of these tags is: 1. you can have the damage ratio be exponential, rather than linear 2. minimum value so it does not decrease to 0 3. make it so it does more damage at range rather than less (inverted) 4. perhaps you can use this last tag to define the degree or amplitude of the cu...

Re: Mod Question Repository... Questions come in, answers go out

Wondering about shields... Apparantly some binary or something or other allows shields to block certain weapons.. anyway, I was wondering, a. is it possible to have more than one 'shield' per unit. b. Is it possible to forcibly turn shields on or off via script (and have there be no on/off option in...

quick question here... I know that beam weapons' damage decreases over distances. Is it possible to put this effect on, say, a ballistic weapon?

OTA-> Spring lua capabilities

Hi, I'm new to the Spring forums, and have only looked around them so far. I made a TA mod, based primarily on unit upgrades and other fancy techniques like that, and have now decided that the Spring engine has far more possibilities and less limits than ota in the upgrading world. Most of my questi...
