It may not be worth much, but DSD is also the reason I quit playing, and is the reason I'm not coming back. I miss Spring/BA but I am am so sick and tired of DSD that there's nothing worth coming back to. It sucks because there's no other good RTS to play.
Guess I'll just wait for PA to come out.

Re: MINECRAFT IS NOW BETA!
I'm addicted to this game all over again. My friend hosted a server with a custom modpack similar to Tekkit and welp.

Re: Non-Spring Random WIP
There are no internals. It's too hard to find good reference material for that so I'd have nothing to work off of. I'd need direct access to a real R8 to do that, and... it's a little above my pay grade. :| I used Blender. I extruded contour outlines from basic blueprints, then filled everything in ...

Re: Non-Spring Random WIP
I'm an intern at a place and I have a lot of free time between jobs so I had to find something to fill my time. I made a really boring car. It could probably use some textures in certain places but I'm not sure if I want to take the effort right now. I'm going to try to post random WIP stuff here fr...

I just re-installed BA on a fresh comp (never had a spring install before, no residual files) a couple weeks ago and teamplatter was disabled.Forboding Angel wrote:Nah, my install of spring is stock. I wonder if it was an ass old version of BA though. O_o

Re: Live Stream and Youtube commentary!
Do it! Good casts are few and far between, but if there was a good caster Spring in general or BA specifically would be a great spectator sport. Things like that help build a community, too.

Re: Primetime ETA?
I was curious about that, actually. I'm very much in favor of the idea of picking a stable engine version and shipping a game with it and not upgrading that unless there's a significant engine update. How feasible is that? For example, I don't know when it happened, but I've been away for a while an...

Yeah, that's one of those key features I was talking about.

Re: Primetime ETA?
what he means by BA being ready for primetime is ready for the masses. I think a combination of NOTALobby and BAR could be. I think that with the model work, some cegs, and some testing for a month or so to get out the remaining bugs BAR very well could be ready to bring BA into the primetime as yo...

Well, BA is coming out with a very large update very soon, a complete graphical overhaul. I have no idea what you're talking about with "primetime" but I will be doing my part getting the word out after this update releases.

I did make a few posts trying to re-rail(is that even a word) the train, they got ignored. so how do you suggest hobojoe? Stay civil and guide the discussion back towards what you need, rather than laying down a hammer saying "THIS IS WHAT I WANT". It possible that you'll have to do this ...

Respond calmly to answers that take it in the wrong direction, instead of getting angry. You got disproportionately angry in your LUA thread, people took the topic in a tangential direction (related but not precisely what you were looking for) but instead of simply guiding it back towards what you w...

Re: dualscreen breaks in fullscreen? (50% bug, 50% cool)
I dream of a day when we can get supcom esque dual screen support, where there are two independent viewports, one for each monitor. If you want one to serve as a minimap, you can simply zoom it out all the way.
But I don't see that happening anytime soon. Or.... ever.

Re: Communities and caustic things
Ban reasons are good. Any and all disputes over a ban should be done via PM and if they are posted publicly should be warned/banned/probated etc. Even warnings should be public. For example a place like SA makes ban/probation reasons abundantly obvious, but drama over any of it is very explicitly ag...

Re: TA v4.0
I downloaded NOTAlobby last night, definitely my favorite lobby that I've used so far, it's super slick. It still has a couple things I'd love to see change, though. Integrated chat windows (rather than floating) and the ability to host a game or start SP vs bots. Kudos to the devs though because it...

Re: BA model replacements
Once T2 bots are finished, how long will it take to get everything together and ready to start putting BAR together? (or whatever it ends up being called) That's assuming animations have been done along with the models/textures, of course. I'm feeling the Spring itch again, but I may end up waiting ...
