I don't understand.
TFC won't change models to newer ones if one sent them to him?
Does it have to come in a new mod?

Re: Advanced Players List widget
Without looking at the code or knowing much about lua widgets:
Why not check which slider the player is using, and if its his own set the maximum to something high (1000, 2000?) instead of how much he has?

Re: Figure out who is being reclaimed?
I wonder if this can be used to prevent smart nanos from reclaiming stuff like dead commanders automatically.

Commander notifier can see commanders inside T2 transports
Just thought I should mention it, since it seems a bit unfair that a commander hidden inside a T2 transport will be reported by the widget.

Re: Next BA update and sequel?
Sorry, I'm in the spoken advice business right now. And when I decide to go forth and create a game, my first dream is actually a StarControl 2 clone. However, I do apologize if I insulted someone here. I'm saying what I think should be done, because I assume there are people here who are working on...

Re: Next BA update and sequel?
Do CA and PURE have their own servers? Yes CA has springrts.com It has been infested by BA lately though :) I'm pretty sure springrts.com is the normal server (I'm not at home so I can't make sure). If it is, then the answer is NO CA DOESN'T have it's own server. It also doesn't have much of a site...

Also, I'd like to add to the list of reasons new people don't stay in Spring the fact that when you join a battle, its noobs VS veterans.
And we can only get our ass kicked so many times before we give up on the game.

Re: Next BA update and sequel?
Players could maybe be arsed to run a second lobby to connect to a second spring server if the game hosted there is really really good. But for another *a mod, no. So current spring players would not change and I do not see why a different server would attract more new players? The *a market is alr...

Re: Next BA update and sequel?
Hopefully most silent users agree with me. I'll take the opportunity to mention another important fact. Sometimes what people *think* they want, is not what they'll really enjoy. This goes pretty much for anything in life, BTW. Perhaps those DSD autohosts are an example of that. Whoever ma...

Re: Next BA update and sequel?
I honestly don't know how a game ever get over the initial lack of players, as said lack is the reason more players won't be too happy to join (they want a game NOW, not waiting). Do I think removing the DSD only autohosts would help? Yes, a little bit. They are making the problem worse. They make S...

Re: Next BA update and sequel?
BA 8v8 DSD is not killing Spring. Lack of players does. I don't think many people really want to only play DSD all the time. They just want to open the lobby, join a game, and play. Unfortunately with the current amount of players it's not that easy. You are right that the DSD only server is not hel...

This is very true.pintle wrote: Imo 90% of the BA players play because of critical mass, not because they are some mod conisseur who chose BA
I like BA because of the big battles, shields, and macro emphesize over micro.
But I suspect that's the same for most mods here.

Re: Release: Smart Select
Holding shift while clicking a selected unit does not deselect it from the group. This is normal RTS behavior.
I suspect this widget would do it with ctrl, but I still keep trying with shift because that's how it works in most games...

Re: Next BA update?
Take if from a noob that visit the forums. Right now Spring == BA. This is the only mode I can relaibly play, and even that's not accurate. There is ALWAYS at least one BA 8v8 DSD game running. Sometimes there are 2-3 more games with decent amount of people. One of the nice things in Spring (BA) is ...

Automatic terraforming of ground infront of labs Addition of a gadget which would automatically smooth the terrain in front of labs such that units will always be able to get out. YES! I lost a game because of that one. It's very silly... Customizable unit costs Addition of a gadget that allows the...

Re: Help with tactics
Thanks for the advice. Watching a couple of replays of DSD with played who teched impressivly fast, I wrote down their build order and I thought I might as well post it here. Those build orders go said players to T2 in about 5 minutes, which seems to be a requirement in DSD. But I think it also toug...

Re: Release: Picture-in-Picture
I would actually prefer to focus on my base and use the PIP window to see the front line, but as it was said without it being a full Spring window it'll never really allow that. And besides, maybe this tendency of mine is why I'm not a good player... Kudos for the widget anyhow, it's really cool. I ...

Re: Release: Picture-in-Picture
Wicked! I'll try it when I get home.
Is there a way to turn it on/off with a hotkey?
Perhaps have a feature to automatically open a pip window showing a unit in a group when pressing the group number with another key?
(For example, Alt+1 will open a window around one of the units of group #1)
