Re: Happy 16 years of Spring!

new server feels great, thought all springrts.com stuff was left to slowly rot. nice to see it preserved, at least for the time being. lot of history here

Re: Demo team statistics broken?

I've just realised this is an autohost vs player thing. Player recorded demos contain team stats and autohost ones don't. I'm guessing because the client needs to be actually simulating the game to generate that info?

Demo team statistics broken?

I'm trying to pull the team statistic data from demos (same data used to generate the graphs in game over screen), but the data doesn't seem to be there. This is the relevant header info for the attached demo: "numPlayers": 18, "playerStatSize": 360, "playerStatElemSize"...

Re: many small rooms > one large one

Does anyone remember why [Fx]Droid doesn't play BA? But that information will be less likely to help other games. I played BA obsessively from when I was 14 until I was 20. Stopped playing partly due to burnout and partly due to games devolving into mostly 20+ player DSD matches. Haven't felt the n...

Re: SpringLobby 0.255 released!

@jaz, no it should be in documents/my games/springlobby as per M$ spec. Which btw, that spec is idiotic. Only M$ is silly enough not to think of something so simple as a username/config dir and tell vendors to use that. Please don't write to appdata. I cri everytiem. And I cri errytim games get ins...

You shouldn't work as admin :-) You're right, I shouldn't, but if any of my other games are examples to go by, the engine/default files should be installed to Program Files, then future assets in a ...

Re: SpringLobby 0.255 released!

Why does SpringLobby insist on installing the entire Spring engine, games, maps etc to my Documents folder? My C drive space is limited as it is, let alone everything Spring related being installed there. Shouldn't it be Program Files by default? I tried changing it but then it reset back to the def...

This is fucking idiotic, just fucking implement email verification like every other fucking place on the fucking internet. Jesus Christ. and this solves what? you know about 10minutemail, etc? I've also been saying email verification would be a good thing for years. Not only for the reason Forb is ...

Re: Status on BAR + repo links

Just here to second the notion that BAR would have more awareness on Github. It's the biggest open-source VCS platform and I visit it regularly and stumble upon other projects, purely because of the fact they're on Github, as I suspect many people do. As I haven't been following BAR, what would be t...

Re: Forum Design Changes

Looks awesome. Should be the default phpbb theme. Still not big on the tiny padding of the logo container though, it's the opposite of what a 'material'y theme should promote.

Re: website front page

Just want to note that that was what I was getting at. By content, I meant just content in general, not necessarily game content. Just too much wasted space that could be filled with stuff developers actually want to see.

Re: Forum as material design

Forum posts are forum posts, it's not the nav bars job to show off spring, a nav bar is a nav bar not an advert banner. If you want the forums to show off what spring can do, link people to threads like Smoths Junk or the dev forum, but unit renders in the header are an unnecessary distraction. Loo...

Re: Killing off the Development page

I'm all for restructure of the current navigation links and pages in the name of simplicity. I also think "Report a bug" should be moved.

What do you guys think about dropdowns? We could keep the important pages easily accessible without flooding the primary navigation.
