Re: MojoSetup installer
Sorry I haven't had time to get my build environment updated for this, the script I use to build the installer is included with it, look under your Spring/MojoSetup directory. The source for MojoSetup is here: http://icculus.org/mojosetup/

Re: MojoSetup installer
All the mods this installer links to are very out of date but they are the only ones available for direct download from springrts.com. You can of course just use springlobby's torrent system to get updated mods/maps but it would be nice to have the installer download the latest ones. If anyone has r...

Re: MojoSetup installer
Thanks for the report! It was a typo I missed when copying the new libs for the 64bit version, 32bit wasn't affected.
I'll fix it in the next release.

Re: MojoSetup installer
Done. Sorry it took so long, I kept hoping to find a way to have MojoSetup's downloader grab the latest versions of the popular mods but I can't find any hosts that allow directly linking to stable versions for them like the original installer did. So for now it's just stuck with links to the old mo...

Re: Error when trying to play (Ubuntu 9.04)
I think that is a bug in the Mars map, try a different one.

I tested this replay with my older installer on Debian-testing 64bit and it played fine.

Re: spring data dir paths
A bit dirty but it should work how you want:
Code: Select all
rmdir ~/Spring/maps
rmdir ~/Spring/mods
ln -s ~/.spring/maps ~/Spring/maps
ln -s ~/.spring/mods ~/Spring/mods

Re: MojoSetup installer
Thanks for the feedback, looks like I missed a lib after all!
I'll add it to the next release (I believe there is a 0.79.0.2 forthcoming)

Re: MojoSetup installer
Lots of changes for this release!
Hopefully most of the common problems with missing libs and broken URLs have now been resolved but please help test it and let me know if it dies or I left something out again.

Re: Quick Crash after start
I'm not sure why it is crashing there, perhaps it is some threading issue with that mod. Have you tried any other mods? See if BA6 works, that might help narrow it down.

Re: Quick Crash after start
Check your infolog.txt and unitsync.log if there's no helpful info there you could try running the engine through gdb:
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=libs:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH gdb ./spring
Then launch it:
run -w
Then when it segfaults get a backtrace:
bt

Re: Spring on PcLinuxOs 2009
The binary installer uses URLs that were in the old windows installer however some of those seem to have been removed and I'm not sure where to link them now. You may be able to get around the fatal error by unchecking some of the mods or map options and then using the lobby to download them after i...

Re: Keyboard input stops working about 5 minutes into the game
Sounds like another application is stealing focus, I'd suggest running the game windowed instead of fullscreen to see what it is.

Easiest way to prevent Spring from locking out your desktop when it crashes is to run it in a window instead of fullscreen.

Re: MojoSetup installer
I got it to build and added it to the installer. Start it with the dedicatedstart.sh so it can find all the libs it needs.
I wasn't able to fully test it since I'm not sure how to setup the text file to start it but it seems to run ok.

Re: MojoSetup installer
Ah that was why I didn't see it. I'm still using scons since it seems to handle my custom include and lib directories better but I will play around with cmake and see if I can get it to build.

Re: MojoSetup installer
I'd certainly be willing to consider it however I don't even know what spring-dedicated is. It's not built by default with the spring source and I don't see any compiler options to enable that.
Do you have a URL to the source code for it?

Re: MojoSetup installer
I'm not aware of any dedicated server for spring, but this installer does include the java based lobby server TASServer.jar. See the tasserver_readme.txt in the game dir on how to run it.

Re: MojoSetup installer
Thanks for notice!
I've uploaded a fixed version. I may have to completely remove the map/mod downloader in a future release if too many links become broken. Since you can download all of them inside springlobby now it shouldn't be a big deal (if I remember to make sure I include the lobby!)
