Re: Forged Alliance Forever shut down!!?
I'm sorry, but I felt that I needed to do that after launching EvoRTS several times and never actually seeing a player. I just cannot not to warn someone new to Spring games about it, or they might assume nobody plays Spring games (yes, I know, there's always people in the lobby, but you get my poin...

Re: Forged Alliance Forever shut down!!?
I'm not sure that a lot of people are going to read it on page 6 of a steam thread (even if it's also linked from page 4 of another steam thread)... but it's also less likely that PA devs will remove it as blatant advertising.

Yeah, I kind of took advantage of that... a lucky coincidence being that people just asked me about Zero-K :

Re: Forged Alliance Forever shut down!!?
Not a company : it would seem that the only guy owning the lobby server got fed up and wiped out everything.
AFAIK the official SupCom1 servers were shut down a long time ago, that's why the FAF lobby was made in the first place.

Yeah, it would seem so. See the red arrow in that screenshot? https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/v/t1.0-9/p160x160/1174725_602115053165129_2132603910_n.png?oh=793999040543dab1c4a038e5e0ae0c98&oe=5484ED75&__gda__=1418676837_7a9caeafd8655ed4b1277e417bb21a2d Top in orange is...

Re: How changing game speed is done in Spring?
Ignore your quote, it's nonsense - gameframes and drawframes are different things. You are presumably looking for the -/+ keys. I know about the +/- keys. The reason I'm posting in this subforum is because I want to understand how the actual slowing down is done in Spring, because the Lead Designer...

Re: How changing game speed is done in Spring?
Continued : the game already plays X number of frames per second. You can't just add or duplicate data slices. Slow motion in real life is created by reducing the time slice and increasing the number of frames per second, relatively simply matter of speeding up the film as it goes by the lens. In a ...

How changing game speed is done in Spring?
Hello, I've seen it said for another game : Sadly though, slowing the game down on purpose is actually MUCH harder than speeding it up as speeding it up is about taking things away, slowing it down means you have to add information. So I was wondering, if anyone could explain me how this is done in ...

Yes, that's a great idea, will just need a nice big tooltip for it for new players.

Re: Pathing
Yes, especially since IIRC this ramp is built to allow even vehicles to pass (as the ramp widget indicates by it's color when drawing the ramp). I had built a ramp first that would be good enough for kbots, but my com wouldn't go up there, so I tried making a "vehicle" ramp. Look also at h...

Re: Pathing
Um, what I see is that the pathfinder considers that there is NO ramp. My ramp is straight, why would the bottom be passable, but not the top?

Re: BA DSD why it works, how it is good and you getting over it.
I'd like to add something: Look at Starcraft 2 : it has one of the best matchmaking systems, where the more you play, the highest the chance you'll be facing an opponent of your strength... But people still bitch about the system! Why? Human nature! Starcaft 2 matchmaking system tends towards a 50/5...

Playing behind a proxy.
So I've managed to make Starcraft 2 work from behind my university VPN/http proxy by using Http-Tunnel + Proxifier as indicated here: http://www.keepandshare.com/doc/1906595/world-of-warcraft-pdf-pdf-may-11-2010-11-41-am-389k?da=y I'd like to try to do the same for Spring. So, how do I "direct&...

Re: How do you make a LAN game?
Lobby server that you can find at the bottom of this page: http://springrts.com/wiki/Download When you run TASServer.jar (assuming you have Java Runtime Environment installed), it would seem as it does nothing, but you'll actually be able to connect to the localhost in TASClient. Then connect to the...

How do you make a LAN game?
I have two computers (Vista & XP) connected via an RJ45 crossed cable. What is the best way to make a LAN game? I see that it the new version you have the Direct Connect option, but there's no option for hosting a game. As far as I know you can do that using scripts, but I don't know the precise...
