Status update of me wrt Spring

Hey guys I've been non-present in all the communication channels we have the last few months without any notice beforehand so hence I write this message. Basically I finally finished studying and 1.5 month ago I moved to San Francisco for a job. I plan to stay here for a few years. The location is a...

Re: Merging tobi's losshare branch into develop

I don't think I've seen those issues. Actually I think they weren't present in the branch back when I made it. No guarantees though :-) I think I didn't merge it because I wanted to optimize the case of sharing symmetrically (in both directions) a bit more and because it could use some more testing....

Re: Replacements for spring site indexv1.css

Pushed CSS sprite based stuff to test.springrts.com. No fading though, I don't see how to create that without an ugly hack like putting two divs exactly on top of each other each with a different background-image.

Also changed the Videos/Screenshots/Show more! buttons to CSS only.

Re: OH LAWD!!! What happened to Springinfo!

Don't. Or if you do, at least call the appropriate phpbb function to do so instead of directly hacking into the database. (You need to sync the topic & sync the forum etc. after each post; this is implemented in php.)

Re: Replacements for spring site indexv1.css

DRY version of this pushed to http://test.springrts.com/ for testing

https://github.com/spring/spring-websit ... 26b7738623

Note: doesn't work in FF14, which happens to be the Firefox in Fedora 17.

Re: AI that uses video and audio input

AGPL doesn't work that way; that'd mean visiting an AGPL'ed website would be forbidden with anything except an AGPL'ed browser :-) As far as I know AGPL is more like: you must provide the source code with any modifications you make that are visible to some users over a network, even if you didn't ha...

Re: spring compilation error boost 1.50

@jpcordovae Can you try whether the kill-using-namespace-streflop-2 branch does compile for you?
Cool, didn't know spring was in nixos as well :P

That probably makes most sense, maybe ask whether I'm online in IRC and only then drop the forum listing to reduce the time the listing is offline?

Re: Shard issues in spring 89

I considered that option, but dismissed it as unlikely since in Shard you integrate Lua as C source code, while Spring integrates Lua as C++ source code, so Spring's Lua has all its names mangled. (I also checked this using nm and/or objdump)

Re: Shard issues in spring 89

No need to do anything unless you have a good guess as to what the cause is: As far as I know no one yet has a clue why this is happening :|

(looks a bit like memory corruption, but valgrind didn't find anything)

Re: mediawiki updated on test.springrts.com

Thanks for testing! the search results link to normal wiki. Looks like this isn't configured in the site itself, but rather in some google control panel. Not that important though, as long as the search on the real site keeps pointing to the real site :-) i could not get the ref-tag to work. (for fo...

mediawiki updated on test.springrts.com

On http://test.springrts.com/wiki I've updated mediawiki to 1.19.1, since our current version, MW 1.16.0, is no longer supported. Major change is the editor: the WYSIWYG plugin we had installed in MW 1.16 does not exist for MW 1.19, so it has been removed. We don't go back to the crappy editor we ha...

Re: A letter from Spring players in China

Good point, if there are specific Unicode literals or a built-in Unicode data type (Python, Java), or you can make variable names containing non-ASCII characters, then you could say the language supports Unicode. Neither is the case for Lua though. Neither the language nor the standard library suppo...
