Thank you!
I would like to dedicate this thread to the good work moderators have been doing. Forums are finally enjoyable and without hate, spam bots are on retreat and newcomers are welcomed with open arms! Finally we can safely communicate without fear and oppression from trolls. Toast to a job well done. :m...

Re: Why not Politics and religion?
There are PLENTY of other sites which are better for that. If I felt like debating such topics with random people then believe me I would and I also do from time to time. Here however are many intellectual people that I know and understand at least partially their thought patterns, seen their past ...

Re: Why not Politics and religion?
I propose there be a subforum for people willing to engage in political / religious discussions. If somebody can't help but be offended, he/she can choose not to participate or even read the subforum. Enter at own risk and all that. There is plenty of people here that do enjoy such discussions and p...

Re: Why not Politics and religion?
From what I read, this was solely the decision of Das Bruce. hmmm I remember this being a banned subject back before we had our forum rules enshrined in a sticky, and the rule was followed long afterwards even with their absence from the list. Almost every single thread on these topics has resulted ...

Re: No politics or religion
But if you're right then nothing of value is lost with this latest decision. Only if you do not value the ability to discuss topics of interest. This policy is very vague in what qualifies as religion or politics. Personally I did not consider either of closed topics (US dept, Norway attack) to be ...

Re: No politics or religion
Few other threads are controversial enough to create these conflicting parties. You misunderstood me here, the conflicting parties are already in existence and need no creation. I was talking about specific people on this forum that inherently dislike each other. Given the right excuse they jump at...

Re: No politics or religion
The hate is not in the topic but in the people. I really doubt newcomers get even remotely insulted by our offtopic threads. Lobby and technical difficulty of this engine/games is probably a more likely cause.CarRepairer wrote:Finally the hate can be gone from this forum and we won't scare off newcomers from spring.

Re: No politics or religion
Is this official policy or your individual decision? It inevitably devolves into flamebaiting and trolling. So no more, you will be banned. Thread degeneration happens no matter the topic given enough attention from conflicting parties. Banning such particular observed events is a slippery slope. I ...

Re: US Debt Ceiling
Dont forget debt or indeed entire monetary system - "money" is just a game concept on top of real world. It in itself has no meaning and no value. If whole world is in debt its just a failure in the "game", no the lack of resources or something halting the economy. In that case ...
