Re: Spring.exe huge delay on startup
I've had this before with the archivecache file being recreated. Tasclient was using the wrong path case for some reason, causing Spring to recreate it whenever Tasclient rewrote it. A new Tasclient release fixed that particular problem, but there may be something else happening related to the cache...

Should something be done about Mar3usmc style heavy bomber rush? That is Self D commander going for t2 as soon as possible, and then send a solid squad of heavy bombers to bomb everything in the opponent's back row. Example: http://replays.adune.nl/?918 If no balance change is made to reduce the ef...

Re: Advanced Players List widget
@ beejayzed Afaik, there is no function (in lua) to determine what player is speced or if speced player changed. And without such a function, advplayerslist cannot determine when you change spec using a key. Perhaps create additional bindings in your widget for the relevant keys? I'm not sure if it...

Re: Advanced Players List widget
If you switch the player you're watching as spec using the number keys, the change is not reflected in the player list.

Re: Replays not working...
As a temporary measure, you can check in the Spring directory under demos. Order by date to see the newest ones.

Its seems as if the skirmisher has to be on hold fire for this to work.

Re: Replay list in lobby doesn't load in the latest version
It might be choking on some. Try renaming your demos directory and creating a new one, and see if new replays show up.

Yea, either the drivers, or some application hook. So check in msconfig.

Re: IceUI
I have a strange problem here. When spring first starts, fps is about 40. If I disable and enable IceUI, it jumps to about 60.
Anyone else getting this?

Re: alt-tab
Another (imo better) way of doing it, is to use the fullscreen ability of your window manager. With kwin (kde's window manager), you can set the window to fullscreen, and tell it to remember the setting. Alt-tab works in this situation. I'm not sure which other wms support this. It basically just re...

Re: How many megs per hour does spring use?
You can test it yourself if you want. I can't recommend a nice win bandwidth monitor for you. Iftop is nice for linux though.
I tested it once and it was negligible.

Re: My cheats wont work???
Also an interesting new one is .godmode.
From what I can tell this can be used after .spectator so that you can control all the units in addition to seeing them.
Btw, to get out of .spectator, just use .team.

Here is a python script which is meant to replace the spring executable so that the lobby runs it instead. Put the name of your executable in the execute function. I haven't tested it in windows. Does spring exist in the path in windows? I tested a bit on my machine, played a few games, it does what...

How to identify spring to a QOS?
I want to setup a qos for my lan so that I don't get ping spikes in spring.
So how can I identify spring traffic to it? Can I tell spring to always try to use a specific source port (when running as a client)?
