A spreadsheet on BA econ balance I found
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aqtbu4iM1cDfdHVwTHVwblE5eWJkLVljSmYxZkI3ZlE&hl=en_US#gid=0 I made this when I was very much interested in BA some years ago. I haven't updated it since, however I think it might still be useful (it should be easy to plug in modern values if you've cha...

Re: BAR - unit/faction name suggestions
core -> good arm -> evil You've got it the wrong way round. The colour of their buildpics say that arm is good and core is evil. (hasn't wc1&2 taught you anything?) But... Dune 1? In Dune 1, the Atreides are red, the Harkonnen are blue. By the way Atreides were blue and Harkonnen were red: http...

Re: Balanced Annihilation Reloaded
Its a trap. Once he finishes it, he will switch the name to CA. I Logged in to say that i think this project sucks. BA does not need to be TA-IP free! I logged in to agree with these posts. Not a very good trap, look at ca and bar, both are pretty much the same goals, with bar wanting to keep ba ga...

Actually I'm not even sure any name changes are necessary in a legal sense.

Re: BAR - unit/faction name suggestions
Ok, for serious now: I think one of the best things you can do for naming is to get rid of "silly" sounding names. For example, what mech pilot in his right mind would want to pilot a "Peewee"? Or "Jeffy". Even names like "Rocko" or "Thud" are overl...

Re: Balanced Annihilation Development
@Saktoth - imho, I'd make the sea way porcier, but depend on shoreline DCLs to do it (so sea is still non-porcy in open water), and buff L1 sea across-the-board so that they can more effectively kill hovers. But my ideas for how to do sea would be to pretty much throw out 90% of existing sea gamepl...

Yes, I saw this as a problem about a year ago and made a start on that page.
Help out if you have a few minutes.

It's really promising what you're doing KaiserJ, please don't let the abrasiveness of other posters discourage you :) ill give a tip: resize your screenshots like this: http://img693.imageshack.us/img693/4139/ima353ge1.jpg and then think what you can do to the textures to look more distinguishable f...

Re: Balanced Annihilation Reloaded
You have my support. I made an attempt at something like this a while back but it didn't really go anywhere. The idea is more or less the same - free the assets. The "Lego" approach above is very interesting, although all the contrasting colors make it quite hard to get a sense of what the...

Re: Balanced Annihilation Development
Sea shouldn't require very narrowly defined "good sea maps" to be fun. Land maps can vary tremendously, and they all tend to result in pretty good games, especially when resources are standard. I believe "good sea maps" are the ones that minimize the current problems with sea, su...

Close it, let it reload, then it should just appear in update manager.

Re: BA Feature Requests (post features & units here)
underwater nano turrets - it just needs to happen The basic con ship is already vastly superior to a land nano turret. What more could you want? (It's about 50 metal more in cost, and for that cost you get +50 build power, +30 energy, and +0.3 metal production) Except when you hit SUPER ECO stage a...
