Trees aren't drawn right
Hi I've only just noticed this as I've only recently got a graphics card which does shading, but there's something wrong with the way shading and/or shadows affect trees. With shadows turned off, the proper 3D trees are kind of shaded, but it doesn't look right, still it's OKish. The non 3D trees co...

Experience
I would prefere a "done damage" count :). because killing a krog is much harder than killing a mex or a peewee ;) Hey, I know, you could just add points on whenever a unit hits an enemy - otherwise it's unfair because units which do lots of damage get to rack up points faster than smaller...

Half posted posts.
I wrote a complete article and when i send it, only some parts were posted, or sometimes i wasnt able to post anything. Me too - the end of a couple of my posts got chopped off when I first posted them - I had to use "Back" on the browser to copy the full text, then Edit the post and past...
Gundam thanks
I'm releasing another version of NTAI tonight that reads buildtrees from file, from which you can generate a gundam buildtree (a basic list of what that unit will build when it's built) good news for you: aai 0.5 will officially support gundam annihilation :) COOOL - thanks guys and to XigXag too f...

Not that simple
Just think about this the other way round. If all YOUR units could fire over DT walls, all the ENEMY's units would be able to as well. Then, the only thing that DT's would be good for would be slowing down an army, as opposed to blocking fire as well. It's not that simple. The point is that you hav...
Gundam AI
Pulease can somebody make an AI that can cope with the Gundam mod? I guess any AI that is truly mod independent should be able to do that, but all the AIs I've tried with gundam either crash on startup, (OTAI, AAI) or just sit there and do nothing (NTAI, JCAI). This is a really fun and totally diffe...

Hi, Wow what an amazing reponse! 97% want some kind of statistics... and most of you are just as sad as me - hooooray =) Thanks for the statistics link - I hadn't seen that before, certainly fills a gap and shows some nice stuff I hadn't even though of. Munch, u willing to build us some nice site? L...

Would you like to see Spring popularity growth figures?
Hi, Just had this idea. Wouldn't it be cool if the server kept a record of the maximum number of users that had logged on and when it was? (and told you when you logged in). Even better, wouldn't it be great to see a realtime graph showing number of users logged in, including a line to show the maxi...

Gundam
I love this game and continue to work on content. It is my way of saying thanks. I hope my gundam mod will bring in a different audience and I am prodding other modders of TA to come to the spring side. Hi Smoth - just played my first game of gundam and I've got to say it's awesome. Completely diff...

4 way ffa
HI There, I agree that if you just want to find out whether one AI is better than another then 1v1 is probably better. However, I don't have time to run 48 tests my self and I find watching 1v1 games fairly boring. Also 1v1 games require very little recon on the part of the players because you can g...

OTAI wins with Core too
Hi, OK so I'm a sad individual and I spent the evening running more tests - all on Greenhaven. This time with core (as requested). The main differences were 1. JCAI didn't seem to want to play ball with Core, so I reverted it to Arm, 2. AAI is much stronger with Core. I ran the tests with OTAI start...

AI FFA Screenshots
No wonder, the Arm buildtree of NTAI hasnt bene updated since some version of 0.27 when I added Xect v Mynn a TLL buildtree and the shipyard to core for basic water support.... Could we see a shot of the minimap at some pivotal moment that sorta summarizes how the game went.... OK, sure I'll do a r...

Bottom kicking AI
Nice one. This AI rocks. This is the first Spring AI I've played that gives me a half decent 1v1 game. A big improvement on the last version that I d/l (which itself wasn't bad). I did JCAI vs NTAI (0.29b) vs AAI vs OTAI (LL) on Greenhaven, all playing ARM. OTAI played way better than any of the oth...

hmmm, Java would be just as hard to learn as c++ if you where doing it solely to work with the spring AI interface to begin with. I disagree. The problem with learning C++ is that there are a ton of pitfalls to fall into. If you write C++ the obvious way it looks like it should be written you end u...

MMs are Fine
I think MMs are fine as they are. They aren't great, but they allow you to beef up your energy supply so that your laser towers have enough power when you're under attack. They're cheap and they build fast and they already pay for themselves. Making them any more effective than they already are mean...

Great idea =)Gabba wrote:I suggest that an on/off status be added to all factories. On=build. Off=stop what you're currently producing, and wait to be turned on to begin the next item in the build queue.

Steady Growth
Spring is growing just fine I think. When I first d/l it less than a year ago I was used to logging in and finding 10-15 people on line - you might get a game if you were lucky. Numbers have been steadily growing since then as word spreads. There was a big jump when Betalord's client was included in...

OK, OK, so I haven't been telling you the full story. A friend of mine who's graphic card mad recommended I try eBay. I didn't want to mention this before as I didn't want half of you guys bidding against me =) My top tip is this: currently a lot of people with a "must have the latest" typ...

ATi vs Nvidia
@munch. For reviews on computer hardware I always look at this site Home: http://www.tomshardware.com/ Graphics Cards: http://www.tomshardware.com/graphics/index.html They got the best reviews. Thanks - I'll take a look. [EDIT] wow this set of benchmarks is fantastic - thanks. Almost exactly what I...

Benchmarks
Anyway, those of you comparing the radeon 9600/9500 cards to 6200s, keep in mind that there are other factors that determine the speed as well. I still suggested you find benchmarks, not just stats on the chipsets. Hi Mike, Thanks for the advice - very much appreciated. To tell you the truth I'd qu...
