Re: Notes about performance, 105.0 vs 106.0 vs bar105 engines
There's nothing to look at in the sense that a 106 game doesn't exist (at least something I would call a game). And even if it existed it wouldn't work on BAR105 or 105. So the least common denominator is to spawn a bunch of units with disabled LuaUI and LuaRules. In case their unitscripts are in CO...

Re: Notes about performance, 105.0 vs 106.0 vs bar105 engines
I doubt rendering performance changed that much. BAR105 is probably bottlenecked by the terrain rendering that no one touched since 105 times. This can be looked at, but we are not in the "highest FPS wins" business: No one (hopefully) runs a game without LuaUI and additional effects, once...

Re: Engine fork and Ingame Community
Ah yes point #6. It's a well known fact that the lenient moderation, inability to deal with BA drama and favoritism towards trolls like Ares, led to all engine devs of the last generation(gajop, hokomoko, Kloot) being gone. Doubt my words? Ask them. So what we have got with spring is negative selecti...

Re: Drawing from Lua could be better in Spring-106
I agree that addon compatibility between Spring-106 and Spring-bar would be a good thing. You should talk to the maintainers of spring-bar about this. Spring.Draw should be easy to merge into the engine fork as it is not very tightly coupled to the OpenGL wrappers of the engine. Be warned that I do...

Re: Engine fork and Ingame Community
Here are my obviously biased thoughts: 1) The rename was necessary such that people don't confuse vanilla spring versions and what we do with BAR105. Yet it's still spring in its guts and even in the loading title. 2) I don't think you own copyright for spring and in wider sense spring as an engine ...

Re: release a windows build for Spring develop engine
I don't get the hostility Ivand, please don't revive drama... What hostility are you talking about? I personally bothered two persons with the infra access, so they would press the build button, but none of them could. Asking for a windows build from the develop branch is perfectly reasonable. Sure...

Re: release a windows build for Spring develop engine
Sorry Ares, I asked everyone I'm connected to who can press the "build the binary" button, but they all somehow refused to help you
I guess with your outstanding skills in everything spring related you can build the binary yourself.

Re: release a windows build for Spring develop engine
Oh 105 movement was a gigantic effort I heard. Some estimated it should have taken as long as couple of hours, but took you a couple of years instead. I'm sure with your powers and expertise you can manage, what no one else could in the past several years, and make BA the first game to work on devel...

Re: release a windows build for Spring develop engine
Such a luck to have someone qualified to do this seemingly complex task! Could you please organize educational seminars or record video lessons helping us follow the trails of your technical brilliance? Something simple yet accessible like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLAMZdN1lw4 (yet of...

Re: AI causing Access Violation
Spring games (spring is the engine, not usable without a spring game) have reached such complexity that AIs have to be specialized for a particular game. Therefore your question lacks important context: the game you are trying to play. Anyway the chances are high you either use old and unmaintained ...

Re: Dead links on the Wiki
All game tutorials here are around decade old (this subject waits for a volunteer to refresh stuff) and hardly relevant anymore as there was a ton of new callins/callouts/param changes happened throughout the years. State of art supportive tools (such as modeling/texturing software) are also complet...

Re: Indication of interest in moving BA to Spring: develop
Doesn't change the fact you are not a dev and have no idea what you are talking about here.
You only wrote your silly message to throw in some disarray while true engine devs decide how to proceed with the further engine development (https://github.com/spring/spring/pull/5 ... -884204357).
