Spring RTS Engine

every time i use ATI - i have only problems... i even can't install beryl on my laptop 'cos my gcard is not supported!

how should i use this? i can see it in widget list, it is enabled, but i can't see any blur! Maybe my gcard is to blame? i got ATi Mobility Radeon X1700.

The question is - how can i play OTA (with 2 expansions probably) with Spring? do i need to make some kind of stuff like unit/map conversion or something? where to install Spring and which version (regular, GPL or whatever)?

was just googling ATI OpenGL and found that ATI drivers really do have problems with OpenGL...

I know that sounds kinda weird when games like FarCry or Half-Life 2, Earth 2160 or whatever can be played for hours without any overheat, but some not-resource-hungry games like Spring, jDoom and even old minigames can cause overheat (on MY system)... but let's face the fact - my computer was const...

I've been experiencing same problem in numerous games (like jDoom). Seems like massive use of OpenGL somehow makes my videocard overheat and then immediately reboot a computer. I downloaded ATITool and lowered the frequency of my Radeon. Worked just fine, a bit slow but no reboots)))) hope this helps
