Re: Unit Control ÔÇô Spring.SetUnitPosition/Spring.SetUnitVelocity
You know the speed the meteor goes at, you know the initial altitude, so the time it hits ground is only a division away. Perform a Spring.DestroyUnit(unitID,true, false) at this time. Or if you are afraid that the ground might get deformed by something else while meteor is travelling, just compare ...

Re: Unit Control ÔÇô Spring.SetUnitPosition/Spring.SetUnitVelocity
Thanks a lot, Argh. Lua_MoveCtrl works fine. Spring.MoveCtrl.SetRotationVelocity adds a nice (albeit possibly unrealistic) spin. :) Right now the meteor passes right through the ground. Can I react to the meteor hitting the ground through LUA and create the explosion manually? Or is there a way to m...

Unit Control ÔÇô Spring.SetUnitPosition/Spring.SetUnitVelocity
Following Jools' request I am trying to write a gadget that spawns a meteor and drops it onto the map. My meteor is a unit (\units\cometunit.lua) that belongs to gaia and is spawned using Spring.CreateUnit. Because that apparently ignored the Y-value I tried Spring.SetUnitPosition to put the meteor ...

Re: New Map: Western Frontier
I like the basic layout of the map very much, while the textures do need more variation. And the sand/pebbles should not be that uniformly grey. ;) I love it! The layout looks absolutely great, Ill load it up right now. Edit: the smd params have a slight bug: CloudColor=1.5 1.5 1.5; SkyColor=0.4 1.2...

Re: Detail texture splatting is ready!
Nice. The example SplatDistrTex contains blurred edges. Does that mean that by using shades of grey in the distribution image I can specify just how much of any detailtex is used for that pixel? Would R,G,B,A 255,255,255,255 result in all four detail textures being superimposed at full strength? The...

Minimap freezes pc
Heya, encountered a rather weired bug: When I move the mouse over the minimap ingame and turn the mouse wheel, the pc freezes. Not just the game, everything. After a while, some strange bluescreen pops up. System: Acer Laptop (TravelMate 5720), WinXP, Inter 2Core @2.00GHz, 1024MB RAM, Mobile Intel 9...

lower the heights - the texture map is good, but the heightmap needs work specifically how? i did want drastic obstacles, so units have to actually mind the heightmap but can also find very good cover. heights might be ok but the difference between flat land and mountains might need more contrast. ...

... so obvious! To answer my first question, why everything is turned red: apparently Spring paints everything red, if it can't find the .smt file. So now, the real problem: If one is trying to be smart and uses a batch file that looks like this: mapconv.exe -i -l -x 250 -n -26 -m C:\_spring\sheer\_...

Textures replaces by red
Hey, my very first tries to compile a map worked wonderfully, but at some point, any map I would compile suddenly started to turn all reddish. Curiously the mini-map always works fine. The detail texture is also visible. Can all be seen on the screenshot. hxxp://img141.imageshack.us/my.php?image=scr...
