Re: Its time to remove the engine restrictions

I would like to get replys from the guys who are claimining in this thread that there are drop-in replacements for BA9 readily available. My own criteria are not that high. But I am actually afraid that there might be some people out there that have very high criterias. But that shouldn't be a probl...

Re: Its time to remove the engine restrictions

To get one step closer to real facts and one step away from a bunch of people stating things about "the BA community": So what exactly is the current game that is "100% BA9 balance" as Forb and others claimed? I really want to know. If that really exists then we are getting somewhere. Feels like hun...

Re: Its time to remove the engine restrictions

Also, are we ignoring that Silentwings already fixed BA for 104 but they refuse to use it? I guess I am part of "they" in your eyes and you keep claiming over and over again that I refuse to play fixed versions: please enlighten me: Let's say I come back from work tonight and I feel like playing 1 ...

Re: Its time to remove the engine restrictions

So came the time, when the lever was pulled and web sites stopped supporting IE6. The internet became a faster and more secure space - without IE6. After banning BA from official lobby the players have to connect to a lobby controlled by Mando to play BA. This happens to be the exact same person wh...

Re: Its time to remove the engine restrictions

Your argument is irrelevant as BA doesn't have any devs. It only doesn't have any devs because you guys somehow managed to be too toxic for even forb. You are oversimplyfying things to a point where it really screws the facts. Probably on purpose (really helps the situation, thanks). While there is...

So came the time, when the lever was pulled and web sites stopped supporting IE6. The internet became a faster and more secure space - without IE6. Could you please tell your story again but this time with a small story twist to be more in line with reality: IE6 actually still is officially support...

Re: Its time to remove the engine restrictions

We don't care the tiniest bit whether people play BA8/9/10/11/pi or any other game as long as they're using a recent engine if they're on our server. I would be way more open to your arguments for the ban if there wasn't this tiny detail that tied it to the game size which in the end makes it rough...

Re: BA10 reskin

PA is literally 9.46 made compatible with 104. What are you blathering on about. Go away, ffs. Would you tell me how many games of PA you played to come to this conclusion? You wouldn't make this statement repeatedely in different threads without something to back it up, right? Which engine did you...

Re: BA10 reskin

This wasn't without permission. On the other hand it shouldnt be done like that of course. It got sorted out now. "http://balancedannihilation.com" redirects to "http://www. beyondallreason .info/ba" and it says "Unfortunately Balanced Annihilation (BA) doesn't have it's own website for now". What ...

Re: Transfer BA repo ownership to Mando

Does it mean that you (=Spring infra maintainers) have a saying in affairs belonging to individual game development projects (e.g. passing over from one maintainer to another)? I lived under the impression that stuff like this here only is a matter of the current game maintainer(s) (which is Shox af...

Has someone screenshots at hand that show how this looks in a regular game (in a regular distance)?

Re: PiHole + Cloudflared is awesome :-)

I cannot explain how pleased I am with it. Because pihole caches dns queries, anything that has been queried before returns a dns query in about 0.233(ish)ms. Which in turn makes browsing feel incredibly responsive. As queries are being sent via https Quite sure you were always using DNS caching al...

Re: 8 players to 16 players limit (and back)

Warzone is a different game. Why would you assume that everything that works for them will also be good for every other RTS out there? Also you did not explain a tiny bit what the problem is with 8v8. Players playing 8v8 were also having fun and not complaining about 8v8 being bad. So I don't really...

Re: RIP BA

Lots of people here seem to live under the impression that every _player_ here automatically also is a spring game developer or can become one within 15 minutes. This is not the case. Do you contribute to every open source project you are a user of? Do you test nightly builds and give feedback of al...

metaphorically speaking, if you were dying of thirst in the desert, I wouldn't piss in your mouth.
Would you at least stop joining every forum thread remotely related to BA and flooding it with your toxicity? Also every time you say "you" you actually mean Ares, no?

Re: [misc] enforcment of spring >= 104.0 for autohosts with botflag

Pretty bad idea imo to bring the whole BA9/BA10 drama into this discussion... but ok

Is this "let's ban old engines" a one time thing or do the devs plan to do it regularly from now on? I just want to understand the plan.

Re: Noticed things

As such I'm afraid none of them carry any implicit or explicit promises of stability or compatibility with 104, that rather lofty expectation exists solely inside your head and should be lowered asap. Read this thread to understand why this approach was taken. Ok, so maintainance releases are based...

Re: Noticed things

Sorry, my fault as I expected that an engine version 104.0 would be compatible with another engine version 104.x within the same major version (as you can expect it from other projects). As I have just learned from Bluestone there are no two engine versions that are necessarily compatible to each ot...
