Re: Busted Link

I'm still here, but can't really make progress until the spring development build compile error I reported to Mantis is fixed. I did manage to play a number of games with the mac build and spring lobby build I did make.

Re: 95.0 for OSX

What I gather after reading about macports is that making it use gcc to compile lots of libraries is not possible. This may be possible to do with homebrew, however.

Re: 95.0 for OSX

I upgraded to mavericks yesterday and I also encountered those errors, the first of which I solved by installing freetype in macports and the second changing const char* theName = '\0'; to const char* theName; I was able to get springlobby (and spring) to compile with clang instead of gcc, however t...

Re: 95.0 for OSX

The maintainer of each port sets the compiler and you cannot easily override that. In this case, boost has a number of variants (like +gcc47) with different compilers but I don't know if the others do. Compiling with the new boost (+gcc47) at least lets me start spring now.

Re: 95.0 for OSX

That would not succeed because vanilla boost will always install with the default compiler (which is clang). Instead I am trying this:

Code: Select all

sudo port install boost +gcc47

Re: Spring Freezing about 1 second after game start

Hi neddie! I guess I am just passing through in the hopes that I'll have time to play some this summer. I did try it windowed at lower resolution and got exactly the same problem (I didn't turn off twinview though, but the window only took up one screen). There are no errors at all in infolog.txt Th...

Spring Freezing about 1 second after game start

Spring is freezing about 1 second into game start and I can't seem to figure out why (this is running a local test game or an online game). I don't get any error message on the console when it happens, the simulation just seems to stop. I was using the Ubuntu Karmic 64bit packages, but then got some...

Re: Dualscreen/Twinview bug

I got spring to work with TwinView using a separate x session, e.g. xinit /usr/local/bin/spring $* -- :1 -config xorg.conf I think it is gnome/metacity/compiz that is conflicting with the window dimensions you want so you need to load a blank x session and then it works fine. In Ubuntu use ctrl+alt+...

It would probably be a good idea to select to install BA, as that is what you will probably end up playing.
