Re: Requests!
Please tell me the current ones are just fillers.
Re: Requests!
I miss the machine noises from OTA. The so terribly cheesy it almost sounds intentionally horrible one-liners I keep getting from my units are making me grind my teeth. I have to play with the sound off now, but miss all the projectile noises. Is there an option to turn off unit vocals? If not, I su...

Re: Computer hardware advice
I'm looking at about 850$ (then + taxes and S&H) for all this. Highlighted: Core 2 7200 (OCs well, good price, better deal than the top Athlon) (Revamped)GTX 260 4 Gigs DDR2 1066 1600/1333 FSB (!!! to me) Not bad at all. Looking at HDs now. Thinking "750 gigs! 10 cents a Gig!? I'll never us...

Re: Computer hardware advice
I think the maximum that board can support will be usable at the least for another four years before I'll think about upgrading, and when I do it should be dirt cheap to do so. Realistically, even these will be outdated as soon as I open the box. Never saw much point in staying on the bleeding edge.

Unreal Tourney!
Seriously though: Halo 1 CE + modding tools. Provided you're all creative enough, it never gets old.

Re: Computer hardware advice
This is looking like a steal for what I want.
DDR2 1066 is still as fast as I'm willing to shell out for. Prices will drop, and I think this board will leave room for upgrading later. No?

Re: Computer hardware advice
This seems to be just fine for what I need. Plus the prices should drop in a few weeks anyway. 20-25$ more for 4 gigs of DDR1066 rather than 800. Would my 25$ really see a difference in performance? I do recall some mobos in the 750i+ range that had some trouble recognizing RAM or something. I reme...

Re: Computer hardware advice
Oh yeah, and the new Intel i7 line of processors is coming out Nov 17. If nothing else, wait a couple weeks after they come out for them to drive down the cost of the core 2 duos. There might even be one at that point that's a better deal. Sold. Now why ATI? For another 50$, MSI has a GTX 260 new v...

Computer hardware advice
I'm calling on the infinite knowledge of the inter-webs and its mighty system of tubes. I'm about to build a new computer, and I'm rather stuck. AMD+ATI, or Intel+Nvidia? The newer AMD mobo chipsets, the 790 seems to offer some performance increases with a respectable built in video chip that can do...

Re: Fallout 3
What am I looking for? Hell if I know. I originally fell in with the line of voters, but then you put me on the defensive explaining myself. Innovative is bonus points simply for being the first. If a 5/10 is average (though people consider 7/10 to be), then I think Fallout 3 should get a 5/10 score...

Re: Fallout 3
The VATs system is optional if I remember reading correctly, and I was perfectly capable of aiming before it. I'll probably play without it. That's about all Fallout 3 has going for it when it comes to innovation, optional turn based combat and assisted aiming, which I have to agree with Swift, that...

Wait... didn't I just say that Smoth?
They cut and paste, mix and match, drop and add some things that should all be standard by now.
Saw a few leaks over at No Mutants Allowed. Harold is back. Looking greener than ever.

Re: Fallout 3
No one wants to spend 20 years developing the same thing. Actually, I wouldn't mind a carbon copy of XCOM, with some of the community re-balancers, in modern graphics. No, it still wouldn't be as great as the original because I do remember the original best. It's no so much that they're developing ...

Re: Starcraft 2 split into three games???
There were mission packs for the original SC (not done by Blizzard though), and I really doubt all the people complaining about it being episodic bought those. As long as it has the working components in one package, why do you all care? No one is going to force you to buy the mission packs. In fact...

I wonder if elidiot and shoelip are the same guy. Not to my knowledge. What'd he do? Ah. I just happen to be a very nostalgic retro-gamer, and all the current revivals of some sacred games is really ticking me off that they can't do it right. It cant be worse than brotherhood of steel on the ps2 an...

Actually Farcry 1 was alright. The AI was pretty good, better than the later ones in my experience, and almost believable. It's when they added superpowers to the formula it became just stupid.

I didn't know you could make an RTS episodic.
Fortunately, I didn't like Blizzard all that much to start with.

Re: Why Do Traditional Rts In The New Millennia Suck?
I'm going to revise what I said before that not only are there more RTS's made then than now, but that there are more non-traditional RTS's made then than now proportion wise. As in regardless that there were more made overall then, but that a higher portion were non-traditional as well.
