Re: Where is melbot?
Feel free to fork it. Consider the license to be GPL. For now just try to get running with a different user. The config should be enough to get it running and then you should be able to configure it through the lobby. I'm not sure how to add yourself as admin though. Maybe I'm hardcoded. :P The pass...

Re: IceUI
Over a year too late (if I haven't replied already) but I just wanted to give you my blessing. It's nice to see anyone still uses IceUI.ecraven wrote:I hope this is OK with you MelTraX, I've uploaded my patches to IceUI to git-hub.

Re: Where is melbot?
Thanks for letting me know it's offline. I did a major server software update around Christmas and forgot to turn it on again. The source is available here: https://svn.janholthusen.de/MelBot/ The running MelBot has this change though because I think the automatic restart never worked. It's been too...

Re: IceUI
Could you post a screenshot? I mean, it's supposed to be unplayable because the new window takes up half the screen but maybe something is wrong.

Re: IceUI
I didn't try it with the MT version yet, but it is pretty slow with the new window enabled atm (at least if there are 30 players). But it's not like you want to cover half your screen with infos anyway. :D About the mess: What did you do? Overwrite your old folder? Was the old IceUI still active in ...

Re: IceUI
I'd like to make a little test release. It should be stable, I would just like to collect some feedback: When compared to the current stable version of IceUI, is this release faster or slower? [edit]Please don't compare it with the new Player Info window enabled though because it's pretty complex co...

Re: IceUI
Just in case it takes another year until I remake the Player Info window, here is the old one with three new tabs:
- Army Worth: metal and energy cost of all mobile attack units
- Units Worth: metal and energy cost of all units
- Damage Dealt & Received

Re: IceUI
Kremmy, I actually also have an XPS M1210 but with an nVidia graphics chip. Never had any hard crashes using IceUI (Windows XP) but I have a completely offtopic question: Is your lowermost row of pixels also shifted to the left like 30 pixels or something? I have this on XP, Vista and Ubuntu (only w...

Re: Widget that show how many units left to MAX-Unit...
OK, I feel bad for giving you a stupid answer: function widget:GetInfo() return { name = "Max Units Warning", desc = "Outputs a warning in the console if you use 90% of the max units.", author = "MelTraX", date = "2009-09-16", license = "Public Domain&quo...

There is also a nice map editor. Afaik it's open source so you can also look there.

Re: Half Rant/Half Advice Request
I really like .NET with C#.. If you want it cross-platform, use Mono from the beginning. SharpDevelop is a leightweight opensource alternative to Visual Studio but it does crash every now and again and the debugger can't handle cross-thread stuff well. Mono provides tools to check a .NET application...

Re: Player bonus = 100 -> give insta building commander?
Why don't you write it yourself and add it to one of your maps like you always do? Then, if people like it, BA could just include it.

Re: Table Inspector
Just for fun I wrote this little widget that puts all the parameters given to callins into an inspectable table. Enable this widget when the IceUI Inspector is running and you'll get a list of all callouts and a list of all callins called since the widget was activated with the parameters to the lat...

Allowing different profiles per mod should be pretty easy. I want to spend some time with the ladder now first though.

Re: Table Inspector
I wrote a GUI framework for a reason, you know? Just delete all lua files in Widgets/IceUI/ (not its subdirs) except inspector.lua if you want it stand-alone.
edit: I attached an inspector only version of IceUI to the first post. Everything is set up and it doesn't touch the rest of your GUI.

Re: Competitive play / ladder
Be sure to make a ladder for Clans. I decided to pretty much start over to add some features That's one of them. edit: By the way: You might have noticed that I made a pretty big IceUI release today. With that out of the way I'll try to finish the ladder now. Don't get to excited though because I w...
