Basically, it's exactly the same thing as with the cratering decals on the ground, EXCEPT it's created by the building - it fades just like a normal crater decal when the building is removed.
Personally, I think it looks cool. It adds something hard-lined to the buildings.

Game crash at starting, no error
I've just installed the newest patch and deleted the three old AI files, EmptyAI.dll, JCAI.dll and the last one with the name I can't recall. Anyhoo ... when the host hits the start button, in the lobby, the game screen goes black for a second, and then I crash. I've tried many different things, and...

30K metal that they'll have a damn hard time using properly. It takes a good two-four minutes, if not more, to build that much metal-storage, and a lot more time to reclaim the Commander corpse. And not to mention that the commbomb itself likely has severely crippled your ability to build and reclaim.
