Woot, normal maps. ^^ Introduce bones for organic rigs and spring will be an engine to be feared.... or used.

Re: Nvidia gpu debacle

nVidia won't bellyroll over this, they are, quite literally rolling in cash. It is a major hit though. Im just happy that DAAMIT is looking up, sorta, even though they are posting losses still. On a derailing note, hopefully IBM decides to re-enter the cpu market, buys AMD and begins to compete with...

Re: nVIDIA GeForce GTX200

On a positive note for nVidia it looks like intel will be supporting sli on their nehalem motherboards. you mean that nVidia will be allowing Intel to use SLI technology. right? Yeah, good point. eVGA and XFX are actually offering cash back options to users who brought the gt200 series cards early ...

Re: nVIDIA GeForce GTX200

^ love posts like that. The 4870X2 is performing on par with gtx280 sli rather than a single gtx in everything except crysis (which shows almost no scaling on ATI hardware). Its interesting how much more efficient the new PLX bridging chip on the X2 is, especially if you look at the GRID benchmark r...

Re: nVIDIA GeForce GTX200

Preview of the r700 is up at Anandtech with just an engineering sample. Looks like ATI is having a nice run this generation. Seems like its only crysis that doesn't like to scale on its drivers.

Hopefully this will help keep AMD afloat.

Re: nVIDIA GeForce GTX200

Since when did nVidia offer features ATI didn't? PhysX? Thats already been made to run on 3870's (albeit through a thrid party). nVidia has always been about optimized brute force, especially now with their TWIMTBP program is rubbing most developers lower backs.

Pure awsome, best unit to walk in P.U.R.E so far. Though Imo you could drop the red visor or whatever, and pretend it relies on sensors or something.

Re: Reiteration, repition, scaredness, Computer, Graphix Card?!?

Buy the ATI card 4850 or 4870, if it doesn't work with spring return it, buy an 8800gt. If it does, you have just bought one of the two the best value cards there is. Should probably mention ATI has nice drivers now, opengl for linux as well as crossfire support. Don't listen to me though, I'm a fan...

Re: nVIDIA GeForce GTX200

Anandtechs review of the 4870 is up, pretty impressive stuff, sitting between the 260 and 280 at less than half the price of the 280 and a $100US less than the 260. Looks like ati is the way to go for price/perf ratio and nVidia if you have more money than brains at this point.

Re: nVIDIA GeForce GTX200

Seems a little odd that 3d mark should give extra points to a card company simply because they programmed their benchmarking tool to utilize a feature that the other company doesn't yet support. If nVidia gets bonus points for PhysX then ati should get bonus points for being able to run DX10.1. I gu...

Re: nVIDIA GeForce GTX200

4850 seems to be able to crank MSAA to a spectacular degree now, so it gets my vote over the 9800gtx/9800gtx+. Unfortunately the 4850 has a horrible single slot cooler though. On topic, the GT200 look and perform beautifully, too bad you have to sell your soul to buy one. Once nVidia move their GT20...

Nonsense, ofc its easy to get pissed drinking beer, you may go to the loo alot, but you dont pee out all the alcohol. Maybe you've been drinking american light beer? I don't think light beer even exists here in New Zealand, unless your talking about ginger-ale? Your right though, I just prefer not ...
