Pintle try XTAR! It has slightly less retarded balance than "official" xta but possibly won't play well on sea maps. To address a tiny amount of the garbage above: "llt's fire rates being able to take down bombers" "If it can kill a tank why should a bomber be spared?" ...

What XTA needs is a proper new release + announcement. There seem to always be these beta versions and spinoffs flying around but I have no idea what people are 'officially' playing. Totally agree. If we look at the statistics XTA is effectively dead, if Tim wants to play Necromancer that's his choice, eitherway there's no way any harm can be done. 2 versions of xta is not ideal, but the alternative to me seemed to be to watch as the game became a complete joke. Surely at least one good thing can be seen from my releases in that it has spurred dnw to start fixing the more obvious balance issues..

BTW, I am releasing using rapid too. I haven't managed to get a mutator+base to sync with the single archive so had to upload another full version to springfiles. Hopefully shouldn't be a problem with todays fast internet :]

I tried with an empty weapondefs_post.lua living in gamedata and it causes the following crash:

Cant we go back to the golden days of unupgradable commanders? I'd even consider playing spring again.. I would like to remove them too but 2-3 players still want them. Was the upgrade after satellite com added in a recent version? I have satellite com as the forth and final upgrade in my version. Removed it anyway.
