Not bad. I like the king of the crater idea. Overall, your ideas sound like applications of FPS game modes to an RTS. Essentially, you're saying: King of the Hill King of the Crater Frag the Monkey Sounds good! I wonder if we could get something like the TA mutator so that we could temorarily change...

BTW, I have all the OTA music in high quality rips. Originally, Blackthorn was going to handle putting it in Spring, but I don't know what became of that. I don't have the programming skill (actually, ANY programming skill), but if one of you wants to try, just let me know.

zwzsg, would you mind telling me about your "teleport" and "mobile factories" technologies? These sound as interesting as the bridges you built for OTA! RE: cornerless maps, I'm a very strong advocate. Moonbase Commander is an example of a GREAT game ($5 at the local bargain bin)...

The ability to space units (ie mines) equally comes from TA Hook, a Yankspankers add-on to OTA. Select the building you want to build, like mines or missletowers or whatever. Munch, you can already do "default spacing." Spin the scrollwheel until the spare is bigger than the mine's footprint. Now drag a whole bunch. Release. Your mines will be build spaced equally apart.

I just got back to the US after several months in Europe. Europe was awesome (sorry, didn't get to Sweden, though Athens was cool) but I have no idea what's happened in Spring since April.

Fill me in on the big developments, and I'll add them to/check them off the requiest list accordingly.

That's a fascinating idea. I wonder (and the answer is probably NO) is it possible to make a corcscrew mountain of water, like a spiral waterfall? It would be interesting to sail your navy up there.

Spring needs dynamic lighting most badly of all. That allows all sorts of neat effects: illuminating units with explosions, shadows striking outwards from the epicenter of the explosion, day/night cycles, blue/red glows from the lightning cannons and flamethrowers.

Yes, Spring needs dynamic lighting.
