Re: Spring MT & Installer
Mhhm, but if MT isn't finished or working, it's not because of lack of bug reports, it's because the dev can't agree how to tackle the MT Lua problem, and have much work ahead anyway before a test build with proper architecture is completed. +1 Basically, when MT works with CA, KP, S'44 and P.U.R.E...

Smoth.
I've been gone for a few days, doing RL crap, and I get back to this stuff where Smoth's declaring "open war" and basically saying that he doesn't care about our rules here. Never mind that what I did was simply propose a solution to a problem, then clearly demonstrate that it could be don...

Re: Allow cannons to use beam canon style texturing!
This is the feature request forum argh, your stuff is entirely stupid. No, I'm explaining to you that if the engine needs to be changed, it should be changed in a different way than your request. That is SOP here. If you weren't so phobic about OpenGL and prone to being a jerk, I'd have just pointe...

Re: Allow cannons to use beam canon style texturing!
I understood that you wanted cannons to use a beamlaser, then demonstrated code that does just that. When you can demonstrate similar code, feel free to show us. After all, you're the professional coder- this is easy, right? As for the stuff you said that wasn't entirely stupid... meh, my answer's s...

Re: Considering Spring for a future project, need answers.
make a unit, put it ingame, make a map, make a hello world widget. that will probally keep you occupied until christmas. Other than saying "gadget", since you want to deal with gamecode right away, I 100% agree with this. Basically, start dealing with the learning-cliff (it's not a hill, ...

Re: Integrating alternate model formats
Scaling / rotations / transforms can be done in the vertex shaders. You really should just get the Unit core position and produce the current Piece matrix, everything else should be shader-side. Ideally, we'd get rid of Pieces except as an abstraction, in the sense of just including the Piece number...

Re: dealing with luaui conflict in non conventional manner.
Oh, so you're hoping that Widget writers will, eh, "Gundam-certify" their wares?
Good luck with that. I guess that we're done here.

Re: Allow cannons to use beam canon style texturing!
It's not using a cegtag or any kind of particle. In fact, I don't use any CEG at all any more, but that's another topic entirely.Yes you do argh, cegtags are only emitted every frame

Re: Allow cannons to use beam canon style texturing!
Eh... it's releasable whenever I want it to be, but I'm still dealing with the last issue, and I moved this week, so I haven't had time to finish it. Probably won't get it done tomorrow night, either, as I have RL stuff I need to deal with, and the FBO thing I'm playing with really isn't trivial. It...

Re: dealing with luaui conflict in non conventional manner.
Read the P.U.R.E. source, it has a working whitelist for things that are known to be safe and tested. And I wrote a blacklist that worked OK at one point as well, although I agreed with the feeling at the time that it would be more of a time-waster than not. There aren't any other solutions. Widgets...

Re: Allow cannons to use beam canon style texturing!
Argh's trails use an assload of particles Incorrect. you have to have a slow moving particle Incorrect. JK's ribbon code is bugged and I had to add a kludge to keep it from taking out lups(he is aware it is just low on his priority list) It never occurred to you that I fixed the shader/other code w...

Re: Random WIP
Love the colors and feel of wear, but it really needs windows.
If you're doing what I think you're doing, though, I want to see a lot more of that, but you may want to keep the 3 main color channels in layers and make sure to save a copy like that

Actually, last time I tested it, it worked the best it ever has- it was faster than SSMF over here. That said, yes, it's dead.

i was talking about (maybe) ying is not "the good", and your brains convert that to (maybe) yang is "the good". Honestly, I wasn't quite sure where you were going with that- it wasn't very clearly written. Anyhow, I apologize for misinterpreting your statement. Yeah its a shame ...

LOL! Funny how you get, when we get to your nation's behavior, Gota. Your statements are either very ignorant or very naive; everybody who isn't an idiot knows that your country has been contemplating a strike on Iran, including discussions of using nuclear weapons. Your air force did a full-scale d...

Re: Allow cannons to use beam canon style texturing!
I was actually thinking about this yesterday. Just draw the projectile in unsynced, using a shader. See jK's ribbon trails for a reference. Should be quite possible to do this. It would mean making only smallish changes to the current synced behaviors.

I agree you seem very sure. Perhaps to sure. Perhaps. However, I've read various histories about how spy networks work, and the kind of data that has been released is exactly the kind of information counterintelligence people use to 'read between the lines' and backtrack information to the sources ...

Re: Wikileaks
Well, besides the particular slang (don't use that word, it's one step away from 'fucking' and will not be received well by most Americans) it's an insult because it implies that I'm 'in bed' with the current Administration, or that I agree with their response to the leaks, which frankly I don't. In...
