Re: Amazon Prime Air: Drone deliveries
It aired/was announced on the Sunday before cyber Monday, which is our biggest sales day of the year... definitely a PR stunt, there's way too many hurdles to overcome, including the fact that we'd have to open a TON of new facilities to cover all the major cities adequately in a 30 minute window. I...

Re: New Game Development: Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds
You shouldn't need to contact Disney or remove Star Wars from the name, but don't use the name "Galactic Battlegrounds." I don't know your skill sets or how many are on your team or your work ethics. If you have 3 smoths with time available you could probably finish in about 3 days. But mo...

Re: New Game Development: Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds
I personally wouldn't care if you used any of the IW assets, but I do not speak for the entire team . I've linked Zsinj to this thread so he can throw in his two cents, and I'll try to get a hold of Lynx (Wolf-in-Exile on these forums) as well. Lynx in particular will be a harder sell because he doe...

Re: Converting world coordinates to planar ones
if you want accurate projections and all that shit, just buy a globe if you understand mapmaking isn't a perfect science and never will be and you still need information delivered to you on a two dimensional plane, use a map if you're some kind of weirdo who's anti-north then just flip either of the...

Re: [Release] Imperial Winter - build 57
Zsinj, he posted the maps in the OP. Learn to read, etc etc :P Yeah, my intent with the forums is to just keep everyone here. I was hoping FLOZi and abma would be able to get a hold of someone to unlock the forum here. I really don't want to bother with administrating the IW forum right now but I'd ...

Re: What hardware to get for a new gaming pc?
Agree 100% about spending a little extra to get a good power supply. I've had enough cheapo pieces of shit fail on me over the years, but I haven't had a good one fail yet. I've got a modular OCZ which has been running almost 24/7 for 3 years now, a Seasonic which has been running 24/7 for 2.5 years...

Re: Imma Nouncin Mah Game!
Played a couple rounds. Interesting concept at least. Not much to add but I'll fill out this part:
Q7. How well does the game run? and on what system?
Around 20-25 fps average on a Core i3 3217U (1.8 ghz), 4 GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 4000 under Win8

Re: Why is rogue republic still in the news?
Ok. I might try to mess with it this weekend and see whats up. I'd like to put out a semi-public beta build and hopefully have a few games played online to try to catch any major bugs. Then we'll go from there. I dont know who last touched the speeder. It used those weird custom flight tags. Thats r...

Re: Why is rogue republic still in the news?
Forb, at this point we wouldn't flip shit if you used any of our code (if any of it still works). At least I wouldn't and I was responsible for a lot of it, and I'm pretty sure all the scripts we got from KDR were PD licensed anyway. The story would be different if you ripped art assets (mainly mode...

Re: Why is rogue republic still in the news?
I don't mind taking some of the blame. After all, I went along with it and I was the one who made it actually happen. Also, we were never trying to be ultra secretive or secure or anything like that. We're relatively realistic about the situation. We just didn't want bad publicity from an incomplete...

I always wanted this too when I was still developing. I wanted to put ALL of the little image directories (sidepics and anims* come to mind off the top of my head) into bitmaps but didn't really campaign very hard for it. I don't see why you can't just add a line to one of the gamedata files, like m...

He has a laptop and afaict it's just a software problem anyway
Also, what you ran spring on years ago doesn't really matter now. I ran on a thunderbird and a radeon 9600 but that computer can't even run spring anymore because thunderbirds don't have the SSE instruction set. Just sayin

Re: Imperial Winter - where things stand, and how you can help.
Couple things, Forb: 1) SWTA for TA was released. Like five times, actually. The old team never "finished" it in that it didn't have the AT-AT or Jedi when real life claimed them, but it still had ~130 units and decent gameplay. Which brings me to my next point, 2) Zsinj took over SWTA in ...
