Springfiles Upspring Link
We have someone in BAR asking about upspring, seems the wiki links to http://springfiles.com/spring/tools/upspring which, since the SF migration, is a dead link. I tried just substituting "springfiles.springrts.com" for "springfiles.com" but still dead link. Anyone know about thi...

Re: Springfiles update : map categorization and search improvements
Thanks raaar, SF has been in sore need of improvement. One thing I've been hoping to return is ability to search widgets? Pretty sure old SF UI supported them.

Re: AAI with improved support for water maps
Hey! I'm commenting because, well, it's so quiet here! can't have that. AAI has had very few changes; ZK's CircuitAI (I think? We call it Barbarian in BAR) seems to be the last maintained native AIs; development seems to focus more on Lua AIs now, coz that's where most of the expertise lays. Engine ...

Re: So it's been half a decade, how's BA doing
2v2 is the best, 1v1 is a bit too unforgiving for my tastes. Plus 1v1 seems a little more repetitive? and harder to balance out, especially with the relatively small community. I've always felt like I'm in a gap, where no matter who I play against I'll either win or lose decisively, and so it can fe...

Re: can I use my created spring rts game charge?
Not sure if I understand the question, but I'll have a go. GPL2 outlines you can sell your game commercially, but you must make the source code available (with a copy of the license). Your models & art does not have to be licensed under the GPL, or made publicly available – much of Beyond All Re...

Re: The good ol days
Hi! I'm too new to remember you :-) We really do have a dearth of 1v1 skill here in BA/BAR. Have you checked out BAR at all? It's mostly a sea of new players, but some are beginning to progress through the ranks. And, hey, if there's any chance you can show Cartouche who's boss, go build that comput...

Re: Spring version that only requires OpenGl 2.1
I believe Version 103.0 is the last that will run on OpenGL 2.1 (for that exact reason, it's currently the last version with an [unofficial] MacOS build)

FYI: both of these links are dead
It's a month later so maybe they served their purpose?

(I'm only half sorry for the pun.) It appears there's been some advertising uploaded to SpringFiles. Afaict there's no way to report uploads on the site itself. Re: Spring's Broken Windows
To address what other people have said: Everyone that moans that moderation in Spring has ever been too heavy handed should be forced to wear the hat for a few months. Could you elaborate on what the experience would be like for someone who wore the hat for a few months? Yes, let's throw the entire ...

Re: Looking for Linux64 build of around 2018
Hi Kevin2k,
I don't know which 2018 build will work for you but you might find success pairing BA v10.24 + Spring 105.0 + DAI.
Is there a reason you specifically need v10.11 + RAI?

Re: Is it fun to lock threads?
Afaict the thread locking is a symptom of another bigger problem. But either way I do think it's happening too late. If they thought it was fun they wouldn't take so long to do it. Either way it's happening over and over with threads containing the same people and the same topics and something has t...

Please report posts instead of using replies, see https://springrts.com/wiki/Reporting for why. While I fully agree with rationale of "why", I can't help, but notice the forum is filled up with troll posts from a very few individuals, who for some reason receive very lenient treatment. So...

Re: Diary of an insane man
A very late update. I experimented with some Vulkan. Learned some C++. Did some more lobby work. Tinkered with the engine. Wrote some widgets. Did some more lobby work. Somehow I need to pick up some more C++ and learn how to actually use the debugger. My tinkering just ended up creating (or uncover...

Re: update #newbies topic
They have all those confusing instructions how to download files via webbrowser and moving them into spring folders. Unfortunately it's still very necessary for people to know how to do this. Especially because certain things still can't be autodownloaded (e.g. Lua scripts) 2) "Where have all ...

Re: Random WIP 2018 / 19 / 20
Trying to decorate some maps, I learned two things along the way, Cinema4d has a free trial and uses the 'Ministry of Flat' UV unwrapper, which does a better job than anything ive ever seen. Also substance painter is fun, but a tad crash-happy. https://springrts.com/phpbb/download/file.php?mode=vie...
