Re: contraceptive woes
Try different chemistry condoms too. The latex ones kind of suck. The polyurethane ones aren't bad, but personally I much prefer the polyisoprene ones. They're all worse than none, obviously, but sometimes that's what you have to deal with in life.

Re: dunkin donuts
Donuts at DD are rubbish. Breakfast sandwiches are pretty solid for the price though. (They're mediocre but like $3, where all the good places charge you like $6.) Their coffee is too sweet and not great, but eh, it's drinkable, which in my part of the US - much of it is not (especially the super-bu...

Metalopolis is generally considered a zerg map, I think, not a terran map. On account of the expansion crescent.

Re: Starcraft 2
@ Erom Tried to post this earlier, but I think something eated it. The problem with the 3-part game is that it's too long to get to the next faction. Yes, a game can be too long, if the gameplay doesn't keep it fresh. You know what would keep the gameplay fresh? Getting to play as a different facti...

Re: Starcraft 2
Single player campaign = worth every penny. You payed $60 for a third of it fyi, rest doesn't come out for years I knew what I was buying. Would be a solid buy at twice the price (Ok, not really, and I would have preferred $50 as a price point. $60 is tolerable.) Seriously, it's SO GOOD though. 1) ...

Re: Starcraft 2
Got it at midnight, played the first 3 missions before work. Kicks so much ass. Very excited to get home tonight.
Blizzard games = only thing I buy on release rather than waiting for low prices.
Battle.net 2.0 = unfortunate step backwards.

I used to play a lot of AS1. No longer have UT2K4, alas. Was a great mod though. Possibly my favorite on that engine.

Re: Assassin
That is also the style of play I have seen - when you kill someone you get their "hit list" or their collection of hit lists if they have multiple kills under their belt. The person with the largest collection of hit lists at the end of the night is the winner - this gives a visible indica...

Yeah, if you have a properly trained metalurgist, IRL iron < bronze < steel, though even that is an oversimplification and it actually depends on the application.

When you say "forged" are you literally forging? Because that's pretty hot, no pun intended. Type of thing I wished I could do but am eternally held back by living in rented apartments.

Indeed, all this world cup has proved to me is that this sport makes no effort to be fair and thus I can go back to ignoring it.

Re: DWARF FORTRESS
Yeah, the combat balance is wacky right now. Basically small wounds don't compound at all, so unless you deal a single fatal blow before you cover your enemy with small wounds, you will never kill him. Wrestlers in particular are pretty worthless.

Re: World Cup Footy Thread!
Do you really think shouting at refs is better entertainment than a sport that is actually fair? I know instant replay did a LOT of good for american football.

Re: Bicycles
I definitely hate full suspension and soft-tail bikes. It makes me sad to see so many of them. I think front suspension can be nice when necessary, but it isn't so for most riders. Only the real mountain bike riders should be concerned with it. One of the reasons I've kept my crap bike so long is t...

Re: Bicycles
I actually own a crap wallmart mountain bike from high school, but I still use it constantly. Parts are cheap, it's easy to repair, and it's expendable in case I wreck it, and where I live getting from A to B quickly often involves trails or road construction, so having a mountain bike instead of a ...

Hey, how many teams get past the group stage? One from each group or two? I tried to find this info on the Fifa website, but I guess they assumed everyone already knew.

If you don't sympathize with Shinji, then he's the whiniest little douche in the history of TV. Yeah that. It wasn't Shinji being sad constantly that bothered me, it was that Shinji kept being sad WHILE BLOCKING OUT THE INTERESTING THINGS I WANTED TO SEE. Like he was moping in from of a TV I was tr...

Re: Hardcore anime fans
Cowboy Bebop is the best thing ever projected onto a tv screen. Ghost in the Shell is of average watchability. Neo Genesis and .Hack are terribad and I want those hours back. That's pretty much my entire familiarity with anime. I will poke my nose into VOTOMS on you-all's recommendation.

Re: Humble Indie Bundle
Lugaru is soooo baaaad too. I should make a terrible game and get in on one of these bundles and make way too much money. I actually really wished they would let you pay different developers different amounts (like they let you customize the developer/eff/child's play split), because I really wante...
