Re: Help MK Buy a Laptop!

Well, I was going take a screen shot of spring running on it, but I was too lazy, and the person on skype in the background was trying to get me to play games with him. Re: Flashlights

I've just got one of those Cree XML lights from DealExtreme: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1547250/EastwardYJ_J01_XML-T6-2.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1547250/EastwardYJ_J01_XML-T6.jpg 10W of LED is amazingly bright. The LED is rated at 1000lumen, however this light doesn't drive it at full current. I've ...

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1547250/thinkpad/thinkpad%20x61%20viewing%20angle.jpg IPS screen viewing angles are fucking amazing. It's like that on vertical angles too, but that's harder to photograph. This is my rather beat up Thinkpad x61.. they are certainly tough machines. I have not played with the...

Re: Mobility Radeon 7500...incompatible?

Woo! Just in time for the $30 T43 I found on ebay! This one has a Radeon x300 though. Also a brand new battery, believe it or not. I also tried spring on a thinkpad x61 tablet, but the GMA965 means it's not much good for maps bigger than 8x8. At least not at the native resolution of 1400x1050 Ebay i...

I've sold the T40 months ago, but I'm pretty sure I tried those as well.

Re: Mobility Radeon 7500...incompatible?

I don't know how much depends on the mod. I do know that CA always crashes in a similar way when I start a building on my desktop computer running a Radeon HD 4850, though BA doesn't. Is there a way to get spring running on that 7500? Edit: I installed the 6.11 Catalyst drivers via the DH mobility m...

Mobility Radeon 7500...incompatible?

I've got a IBM Thinkpad R40 ($10 from ebay!) with a mobility radeon 7500, and the drivers from IBM. Spring won't start on it, it crashes right after loading. I've turned all the setting down as far as they go. Anyway, I aso have a Dell Inspiron 600m with a mobility radeon 9000, which plays spring pe...

That could be done. I'm thinking about building that Violet laser into my old Nintendo Zapper...

Though that would obviously be useless for killing things that are not bugs.

Not really. Tesla coils are not really a good candidate for weaponization.

Re: Your computer desk.

Made made a little one about 10 inches high once, but it melted down in 10 seconds due to using those same Chinese capacitors... I built a solid state coil, but it didn't work. I haven't messed with it much though, I'm sure once I mess with it more it'll get it working. Currently, I'm trying to get ...

Re: Your computer desk.

You could, but it would be very dangerous. If you don't remove the capacitor, it could kill someone if you manage to get them across the heart. But if you do remove it, the shock isn't very strong. Here's steel wool instead: http://jake.tscsupport.com/images/HV/DSC01167.JPG Also see the coil gun I m...

Re: Your computer desk.

I dont anticipate finding any women in that bunker... If I were female I would definitely sleep with a dude who made Marx generators in his mother's basement. I was wondering if anyone would identify that thing: http://jake.tscsupport.com/images/HV/dsc00505.jpg I had made a much larger one, but the...

It's not snow, it's a block of ice from the river.

Re: Your computer desk.

Whats the power output of that DPSS laser? 30mw. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10557 I bought it before the FDA made them stop shipping lasers into the USA. This red from a DVD burner is lots of fun as well, doing something like 250mw. http://jake.tscsupport.com/images/Laser/22x_RED_13....
