Re: Teach me how to learn the Lua interface
Thanks everyone. This has been really helpful. ... For what its worth, I dislike dynamically typed languages too, ... Not only I dislike weakly typed languages (because of this problem), I also dislike jumping into a new language head-on because it's going to take quite a while until I know the lang...

Teach me how to learn the Lua interface
From this thread: https://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=34296 came the idea of creating a Lua "Widget" to watch a replay and extract game-state data while the simulation is replaying the match. I moved on to learn Lua and troll thoroughly around the Wiki and did my first exp...

Re: AI spectate or watch replays?
... http://abload.de/img/tabula-v2_xta_6530784c3k4g.png ... That's FREAKING cool... The middle graph, at least, which I assume shows the comm path - and death :-) - throughout the game. Why is that not part of any mods? I'd love to see the quircky and sometimes whimsical paths of the comman...

Re: AI spectate or watch replays?
Write a cute little python script that looks in your replay folder, manufactures a script.txt that will load the replay and add your AI as a spectator, then starts spring with that script, then after it exits repeat with next replay? ... I think unlike players AIs can not be added as spectators or ...

Re: AI spectate or watch replays?
... The eco data is in spring already, you see it as graph at end of game. https://springfiles.com/spring/tools/spring-stats-viewer is a phython script that extracts it. it is broken. I had a look at the python script and it appears it is extracting some meta-data (pre-calculated data) that has bee...

Re: AI spectate or watch replays?
Thanks for all the answers. Extracting replay data is probably easier to do in Lua. Just serialize the gamestate (WIP library ) to JSON and save it in a file. Since I've seen your code I started looking into the whole thing Lua Sync/Async Gadgets and Widgets. However, I .. erm, spend more time spect...

That did the trick, I can now create starting boxes. Thanks.

Re: ingame chat dont work
Maybe there's some incompatibility between the portable and your O.S.? I'm with Ubuntu 14.04 and chat works fine but my version was compiled from source. Since you appear to know how to compile from source, can you try pulling from GIT the source code, update the GIT repository to version 100.0, and...

Re: How to specify "Choose In-Game" start boxes?
Crap, forgot to specify that - no, it's not in a SPADS autohost, it's in a regular Battleroom lobby.
I want to make a few experiments as single-player with AIs, to see what I can do regarding them choosing their starting position.

How to specify "Choose In-Game" start boxes?
In SpringLobby, how do I specify (drawing or command) the start boxes for "Choose In-Game" setting? All I could find was: https://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=13261&hilit=choose+in+game+start+boxes Which simply states: "draw boxes on the picture of the map", wh...

AI spectate or watch replays?
Is there any way to have an AI spectate games? Either spectating running games or, preferably, watching a replay? Basically, what I want is to "watch" games in a way that allows code that can extract and dump to files what's going on in the game. Ex: - Minute 1: Player A 50m, 800e, 8.8m in...

Re: Status on BAR + repo links
Ahm what?? if the stats and gameplay are equal and the true only difference between BA and BAR are the graphics i would almost pose the question if BA or BAR should be a mod option rather than a complete different game. All girls are equal - only "models" are different. So go replace your...

Re: All nutrition, almond oil and skin therapy goes here pls
It came to my attention that one of the best therapies for skin is to apply some cat to it.
Not for any kind of skin, though - it is only beneficial for man-sausage skin. And it can't be any kind of cat too, it needs to be a pussy cat.
I hear it is very good for your skin.

Re: Thesis: machine learning AI for spring 1944?
The focus on high complexity pleased me because i love historical/realisic focused games, and the more the gameplay adds elements, the more solving the problem gets complex. In fact a lot of research / AI competitions often try to solve "very well" relatively simple problems, with a low n...

... The rest of what you posted doesn't really apply that much. $500 for the 3 items in the board ... Mind you, I wasn't saying the payment was too low. I don't know the extent of what's being asked but I do know that 500 (US?) dollars is a very reasonable amount of money (it could easily be {~400€...

How did you find that out? Did you do Ad Hoc profiling (ex: dump into a file the time spent inside functions X, Y and Z)? Or what did you use to profile?
