Re: Wiki: issues + quick questions/answers
spending 90 minutes spamming equivalents of "this is broken" onto 30+ long dead threads ... E.g. viewtopic.php?f=67&t=24373&p=568834#p568834, viewtopic.php?f=67&t=3114&p=568837#p568837, viewtopic.php?f=67&t=24417&p=568829#p568829, viewtopic.php?f=67&t=17662&...

Re: Wiki: issues + quick questions/answers
Why is this even listed if it's removed? It is listed because answers questions like this: I wasn't sure if it still had any effect If it was deleted from wiki then one could not be sure if it maybe just missing as an oversight. Similiar if things change, like parameters being added to functions. I...

Re: Code to check your movdefs.
It should stay, it was a dead thread 3 years old but could be found by searching the forum. If it was like that then would be no problem: Just another thread among many with fail and outdated stuff. But it is not hidden away, at top of the "Games Development" forum ( https://springrts.com...

Re: Code to check your movdefs.
A misunderstanding: This is not some random resurected thread. This is listed as "Tutorial & Resource" and it is wrong. I posted so that fictional newbies do not get confused by it. On wiki it would just get deleted. After some time anything that uses *def tags after can be assumed to ...

Re: PhpBB 3.1
It would be nice if edited posts would always show that they were edited, even when edited by moderator accounts.
I mean this text:
Last edited by XY on [date] at [time]
Mods for that funciton seem to exist, did not look if they work.

Wiki & resource subforums
Split from https://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=33366 The resource-subforums ( https://springrts.com/phpbb/viewforum.php?f=67 and https://springrts.com/phpbb/viewforum.php?f=56 ) are bad and should be closed, marked deprecated and be buried in some archive. I looked and found nothing...

Re: Code to check your movdefs.
I agree with you on most other posts, but in this case I don't. If you claim that something is outdated, the burned on proof lies with you. I already mentioned two things. That is probally not complete but enough to know that it is outdated. I see no reason to get into more detail when the reply al...

Re: Code to check your movdefs.
Q: does this work for BA? A: dunno and don't care. Gives not much faith if it is not even sure to work with the major mod. I guess with changes to depthmod in 86.0, this needs updating? No update happend and you "felt like it was no longer cared about." That seems to have been correct tho...

Re: New Tutorials & Resources shall be put in the wiki
After looking through the "mod resources" I wanted to do same with "map resources", but already got tired after two threads. (result is already known) This announcment is from 2012: three years later anything interessting was either copied to wiki or was considered too uninteress...

Re: Bos to Lua conversion page
By now one can assume that all relevant bos scripts are either converted or re-written or beyond salvation.
If still of relevance then, like any other tool, add to some tools list on wiki.
Or to https://springrts.com/wiki/Animation-CobLuaDifferences or whatever.

Re: Use PitchMod in sounds.lua to prevent loud explosions
Added as example to wiki:
https://springrts.com/wiki/Sounds.lua#U ... losions.3D
No idea if explosions even still do the "resonance boom noise" but the example it is interessting and seems relevant to have.

Re: @gamedevs: Writeable install directories
Using a bat-to-exe converter to make a directory writeable = that has nothing to do with spring modding.
(maybe belongs to "lobby / infrastructure development", but such a hack is bad anyway)

Re: removal of AllowUnsafeChanges("USE AT YOUR OWN PERIL")
this was five years ago.
if still want to document then do it on https://springrts.com/wiki/EngineChange ... ontentDevs or add AllowUnsafeChanges() to Lua wiki and mark it as deprecated.

Re: Want to start a project? Here is where you need to start.
The short part that is not yet marked outdated is too generic/trivial to be of use.
The list of tasks/work areas of a spring mod are visible in wiki.
Questionable quality and feels outdated (no mention of "newer fields" like Lua etc)
